Beach hotel recommendation

My partner and I will be visiting Miami Beach for the first time this December for 5 nights and are looking for the right hotel. Budget is around $1000/night.

We’re both in our 30s and looking for more of a relaxed and elegant vibe rather than a big party scene. A great pool, beach access and comfortable beach chairs are a must. During the day we’d love to chill by the pool/beach, then explore restaurants, bars and shopping at night.

We usually prefer more intimate hotels with a relaxed atmosphere over huge resorts. Currently considering:

- 1 Hotel South Beach: Looks beautiful with huge rooms, amazing pools and beach setup. My only concern is whether it might feel a bit too large and busy for our taste.

- Delano: Probably our top contender right now. Love the pool and beach area by Gigi. Smaller and more intimate feel. But I can barely find any recent reviews since the reopening. Has anyone stayed there/visited recently? Rates are all non-refundable, so I want to make sure it’s a good choice.

- The Setai: Looks serene and elegant with a beautiful beach setup. But I read there’s construction on both sides of the hotel right now. Also wondering if the rooms feel a bit dated these days?

(Faena not within our budget for our dates)

Would really appreciate any thoughts on these or other recommendations that might fit our vibe.

Thanks so much!

My partner and I are planning a beach holiday for September and would love some help narrow down the options. We are looking for a hotel/resort within a $600–$1000/night budget.

We aren't picky about the location (Mainland, Crete, Halkidiki, etc.), but we love a great beach. It needs to be on-property and not rocky. We love great food and thoughtful service, but we don't need a 24/7 butler.

Looking forward to your recommendations!
