Title: 99+ percentile in CAT with low Class 10/12 marks — can I still get into a good college?
I’m preparing for CAT, and my mock test scores are currently reaching around 98 percentile. My target is 99%ile+.
However, I’m worried about my academic background:
- Class 10: 54%
- Class 12: 50%
- B.Sc. PCM: 66%
I know my academic profile is weak, especially my Class 10 and 12 marks. I’m not expecting the top IIMs or anything unrealistic. I just want to know whether, even with 99%ile+, I can still get into a good B-school.
If I manage to score 99%ile+, what colleges should I realistically target considering my profile? Are there good colleges where my low 10th/12th scores won’t completely eliminate my chances?
I’d really appreciate advice from people who have knowledge of the current admission criteria or have a similar academic profile.
What should I do from here, and what colleges should I keep as realistic targets/backups?
