I was incredibly lucky to be invited to LG's Campus in New Jersey to take a look at their just announced 1000Hz FHD Display. And it did not disappoint.
We got a chance to take a look at how Counter-Strike 2 held up against this beast, and it was really crazy how much smoother it can look by going to up another 500hz (provided you've got the GPU horsepower to push it, thankfully the 5090 they had on hand had no issue).
I'd love to see how a few more esport focused titles hold up against this thing. We got a brief demo on DoTA (not actual gameplay like CS) and it only made me that much more excited to see how something like Overwatch, Fortnite, or Valorant can scream when paired with this monitor.
It's a 24" FHD display, which obviously will turn a lot of people off. But given this is focused at the eSports side of things, it's a no brainer. Most top level pros actually find that smaller = better. And a 4k display probably won't help you click heads any better (at least until it can push a 1000hz monitor XD).
The screen size and refresh rate aren't the only things being thought of, it's the form factor too. One of the nicest additions is the designed stand that allows for big, large mouse swipes. A lot of monitors use that big reverse V shape with the two long arms sticking out. With this new hexagonal design, even when tilted (something some pros like to do) or even with their nose sticking in their display (sorry, TenZ), the display stand won't get in the way.
This thing is a beast. I was an early adopter of 144hz, and 360hz after that. These days I don't really play many AAA titles, and I'm absolutely more focused on high frame rates and more responsive game play. So this sounds like an easy pickup for me.
Things are still early, but I'm really excited to see what this thing can do.
If anyone has any questions feel free to launch them my way. I'll have a a fuller video later on in the week!
