I recently took a financial planning job, but am concerned is might be a mlm or something similar
I'm new to the online job space and have been looking for something part-time for a little extra money, I applied for a financial planning job on indeed and got an offer which I took. Initially there are very few concerns I had in any concerns I had were addressed later whenever I started my onboarding and licensing process I noticed some things that reminded me of how mlms operate. They have a very strong encouragement on recruiting other people and some of the ways they want us to sell the financial services feels concerning to me. When I took the offer I was under the impression that I would be helping with several types of financial planning but the main thing that they are now encouraged me to sell is life insurance which I was aware was part of what I did but I didn't think that was the only thing. When I brought up some of my concerns about how they operate in some of the things they're asking me to do my boss got extremely defensive and insulted my husband. Initially I didn't have many concerns because other in person jobs I've had have asked me to pay for some licensing and background checks, but now I'm worried I might have gotten scammed and dragged into an MLM. I kind of need advice on what I should do considering I've always had difficulty getting jobs and I'm kind of getting desperate but at this point my life I really only have the choice of an online job.
