Are these scam websites?

Hey! so I want some opinions on whether these websites are legitimate or not:

  • studioghiblishop (.co.uk) - I was particularly interested in buying shoes.
  • thejapanbox (.com) - I was particularly interested in buying a kigurumi (onesie).

I just cant find much information online, some text seems to be AI generated by then the product images are 100% real. Items I want are out of stock for months. If they aren't real can someone recommend alternatives (Ghibli inspired shoes onesies), thanks!

Reddit encounter gone wrong

I'll try to be as succinct as I can without going into too much detail.

A redditor direct messaged me after I made a post in another subreddit. Small talk ensued and got to know each other a bit. Everything seemed on the up and up. Then we got talking finances. Redditor claimed to be a financial advisor that worked for Morgan Stanley. We talked retirement and she told stories of making millions that involved questionable tips from certain clients/acquaintances without naming names. Offered to help me with my retirement situation.

Please note I'm well aware I made some stupid decisions. But here I go. I withdrew money from my 401k with intent to invest. But, something felt off and I started asking for more verification. Received Finra documentation of said financial advisor as well as some pictures with date and name. Things got heated as I pushed for more verification. Things started getting heated. Ran pictures through AI that verified they'd been generated. So I backed out of everything. Contacted fraud department of my financial institution and sent conversation, pictures, AI analysis as evidence and requested a reversal of the withdrawal, which was approved. So, fortunately, my 401k is in tact, back where it was.

I blocked said person on reddit, but this morning received an email saying they are sending everything to my wife, insinuating improprieties and claiming I lied. Also threatening a lawsuit, though on what grounds I have no idea.

So is getting out of hand, hence the reason I'm posting.

  1. Was it a scam?
  2. Is it still a scam?
  3. Should I be seeking a lawyer?

EDIT: Thank you all for the quick validation and advice. Very much appreciated!

Am I being scammed?

I got this text on instagram and it said if they could use one of my pictures for a painting they were going to do. I said sure and they said they would pay me for my likeness. They send me it in check and even though it was agreed it would be $200 they send me $1000 in 2 $500 checks. I asked them about this and they said that that I was expected to pay them back $800 and keep the rest. I just need help navigating this foward

I recently took a financial planning job, but am concerned is might be a mlm or something similar

I'm new to the online job space and have been looking for something part-time for a little extra money, I applied for a financial planning job on indeed and got an offer which I took. Initially there are very few concerns I had in any concerns I had were addressed later whenever I started my onboarding and licensing process I noticed some things that reminded me of how mlms operate. They have a very strong encouragement on recruiting other people and some of the ways they want us to sell the financial services feels concerning to me. When I took the offer I was under the impression that I would be helping with several types of financial planning but the main thing that they are now encouraged me to sell is life insurance which I was aware was part of what I did but I didn't think that was the only thing. When I brought up some of my concerns about how they operate in some of the things they're asking me to do my boss got extremely defensive and insulted my husband. Initially I didn't have many concerns because other in person jobs I've had have asked me to pay for some licensing and background checks, but now I'm worried I might have gotten scammed and dragged into an MLM. I kind of need advice on what I should do considering I've always had difficulty getting jobs and I'm kind of getting desperate but at this point my life I really only have the choice of an online job.

These are the companies I was hired by:

Strong capital enterprises

The Broker Group

Is the Qicaiye clothing brand LEGIT?

I've been seeing a LOT of these ads on my feed from this specific brand so I figured why not just get some. But before I click the purchase button I wanted to see if the site was a scam or not. I checked it on multiple scam tests and it average a score of about 80. Does anybody know about this brand and has anyone bought from them?

Is this job offer legit or a scam?

I received this message offering online work and asking me to create an account through this link: "alnxze.my"

They also sent screenshots claiming that another employee earned ₹8,620 after completing the work.

The website appears to be connected to a Myntra-related “job,” but I’m not sure whether it is actually affiliated with Myntra.

Has anyone seen this before? Is this a legitimate job opportunity or a scam? What should I look out for?

I haven't deposited any money or shared financial information yet.

Is my Mother getting Job scammed?

Hi all,

Is my mother getting scammed by tutoria Institute? She's a teacher with bad spending habits and hates her job, so she tried to get a job over the summer. She found a listing for one on Indeed and I dont think its real. She gave them all the regular employment forms and they have her in a teams group chat with what she says are 4 other people. They had to buy and send an iPhone, MacBook and iPad to a place to have software put on it and get sent back. She's not received any of it. They keep pushing back her theoretical payday. And are always saying she needs to give them $2500 to pay for "Ferpa and Coppa" insurance. They tell her once shes done they'll give her her 15k in pay and she will be tutoring. As well as reimburse everything she bought. She doesn't believe that I think this is fake. Can anyone confirm if tutoria Institute is a real tutoring company or not? If not, is there anyway I can convince her to stop paying them so we don't go homeless?

Zed Prints - scam?

I kept getting ads for them online and I finally ordered something from them almost a month ago. They estimated it would arrive between 7/30 and 8/5. 8/5 comes and goes, so I reach out. They say that they custom make every order and it actually takes about a month to go from order to delivery. Fine.

The one month mark comes up in just two days. I emailed them again yesterday and said that I still haven't received anything, not even a tracking number. I said I'm considering a chargeback if they don't provide some sort of evidence.

Looking at their website, they claim to sell in the NY Historical Society and the Chicago History Museum, but I have no way of verifying this.

The images of the lamps lit up also appear to be AI generated. However, the images of the lamps without light on appear real? I could be wrong about that.

Scam or not?

To clarify I got an email from VINHISTORYUSA and it says I have a refund ticket but I honestly never even requested a refund. My car by the way has been towed and sold already so I was thinking it was the person who bought the car that requested it but I thought it was weird that it came to my email.

Has anyone else experienced this before?

Is this a used car scam?

TLDR: Is ebay@online-center-support dot com actually from eBay? Has anyone bought a car with a refundable escrow deposit on eBay?

I am taking a short-term position in Southern California for less than 6 months, and I want a car during that time. Renting a car for that long would be at least 5k, so I wanted to buy a cheap car for around 2k or less and just sell it when I leave so my main cost is just the gas and insurance. I don't need a great car just one that runs for about 6 months. I have never bought a car before, but I was looking on fb marketplace.

I contacted a seller who gave me her sister's email. The car was $800 with only 80k miles on it and I asked why and she said because her husband died and she is just trying to get rid of it ASAP because she is leaving the country. She then said the car is through eBay with the VPP, and I was sent the attached email from ebay@online-center-support dot com , and the car will be shipped to me free of charge and I have 5 days to inspect it and send it back if it doesn't meet the listing specifications.

Some exact text:

>"How does it work exactly? To complete your Refundable Escrow Deposit, contact our eBay Support Department by replying to this email and tell us when you are ready to make the payment to receive payment instructions for your transaction."

>"No eBay Account needed for VPP protection. A registered account is not required to complete this secure settlement. This protocol is activated at no extra cost and applies automatically to all high-priority escrow deposits made via the Direct-Clearing Network (Greendot transfer), with no registration necessary. Payment Instructions: 3 Simple Steps to Secure Your Purchase To complete your Refundable Escrow Deposit, please follow the official eBay Managed Cash-In protocol (partnered with Green Dot Financial Services). This service is available at over 60,000 locations, including Walmart, Walgreens, CVS, Kroger, and Rite Aid."

>"STEP 1 Request Your Secure Barcode! Please reply directly to this invoice message specifying the retail store where you intend to complete the deposit (Walmart, Walgreens or CVS). Since each retailer requires specific encryption, our system will generate unique, store-specific Transaction Barcodes linked to your VPP Escrow file and send them to you immediately. Note: Generated barcodes remain active for exactly 60 minutes. This window is strictly enforced to secure your pre-allocated shipping slotand fixed insurance rate."

Note: the typo of slotand

I asked if I could see the eBay listing, but the seller said to contact the email if I had any questions, which seems super weird to me. I couldn't find the listing from a regular Google search, but granted I didn't look that hard since there are so many cars on eBay.

I am unsure if this is a real email address like if I ask questions if I will just be talking to a scammer. If it is real, then I will contact them to send me the listing to make sure the information she gave me is also what is on the listing. If this is real it seems like a great situation and I will happily pay for an inspection before committing to the car, but I can't find this sort of thing online, and I find it odd that I went from FB to email to eBay. Especially because eBay does not honor VPP for transactions made through platforms other than eBay.

Too good to be true? What should I do?

I'm not sure if this US vendor is trying to scam me or what.

I'm a small beauty business owner in Asia and recently I was approached by this beauty product business owner to get my product listed on some of the top American retailers, think Target, JC Penny....etc.

Now here is where it gets a little sus. This person is asking for our inventory without paying us first. So fine I guess it's all on consignment. Meaning they pay us only when there is a sale and we split the cost on advertising fees.

It's a gamble on our end but ok we do it. Now this person is asking us to handle all the shipping and labelling and barcodes. Ok fine we do it. Take note it's still all the cost on our end.

When we requested for proof of getting listed we have yet to see anything and my product has already been shipped. The only thing that seems legit is that this person already has their own products on the marketplace like Target. And they have sent us their business registration. I've also seen their LinkedIn profile and business website which all seems legit. I don't want to doxx this person because 1) it's illegal in some countries 2) I'm not sure if this is a scam.

I'm just very suspicious because it's supposed to be a 50/50 partnership but I feel like we are doing all the work here.

Is this site legit for boosting hours

sharpyboost is the site

I’m looking to boost hours on an alternate Steam account across multiple games. I’ve already tested the service using this alt account, as I don’t want to put my other accounts, which have valuable skins and other items, at unnecessary risk.

So far, I haven’t noticed any unauthorized Steam logins or other suspicious activity. The account also does not currently have Steam Guard enabled, and the service has been functioning normally during my testing.

However, the website is relatively new, so I’m hesitant to fully trust it without more evidence of its reliability. I’m also having difficulty finding an alternative service that can continuously boost playtime 24/7, including while my PC is turned off.

I’m mainly trying to determine whether continuing to use this service presents a meaningful security risk and what precautions I should take before considering it safe enough to use regularly.

u/Sharpyku is the creator as i have found.
