There is a lot of discourse going around about what twitter tags to use, which reaction is valid, the best way to protest, etc, etc.

All of this self-censoring and self-policing is a natural reaction to the silent treatment. Here are excerpts from an article from Psychology Today. It's about relationships, so it doesn't map on perfectly, but I think it's relevant to our experience with Infold.

>Clearly, silent treatment creates an atmosphere of anxiety, fear, and sadness that preclude an underlying sense of safety. As such, it causes unhappiness and psychological harm that most often heightens conflict in a relationship. It can lead one to feel anger, abandonment, rejection, and overall distress.

>It can also lead the target of such treatment to feel self-doubt and self-blame, which fuel negative self-criticism. Additionally, those targeted by silent treatment may become obsessed in their thinking about what they need to do in order to end the silence.

Infold has created a game that uses several predatory tactics to establish:

• A daily login habit
• A nagging fear of missing out
• An intense emotional connection with fictional characters, and consequently, the company that creates them.

After having nurtured this emotional connection, Infold has now subjected us to the silent treatment for an entire month. That is deeply harmful, and incredibly irresponsible.

As consumers, we owe Infold nothing. Not our patience, not our kindness, not our generosity. Infold is a company supplying a product. It is up to Infold to appeal to us - to create a product worth our money and time.

Anything negative that happens to Infold is a result of their own poor decision-making. Please do not spend another second trying to be the perfect protester. It's an impossible task, and you will only whittle yourself down.

Just do what feels right to you (within reason, of course - don't throw your morals aside). Sending hugs 🫂

Before this, I never used Twitter, and after seeing all of the nonsense that goes down on there this past month, I really wish this fandom was better at:

• Ship and let ship (don't yuck someone else's yum)
• Don't like, don't read
• Morality policing (fiction =/= reality)
• Constructive, thoughtful discussions around porn, erotica, and sex work
• Recognizing TERF rhetoric
• Excessive, hyperbolic name-calling (not everything is internalized misogyny, please 😭)

And this is especially relevant for pro-Valko Caleb mains. They get bullied from all sides, and it's really not okay. I'm so tired of it.

They appeared very suddenly. Maybe they're paid for? We don't know.

What I DO know, is that this is pure, distilled, torture. 🫠
