I used to love him so much in New Leaf, I had no idea that he’s so popular these days. I wasn’t particularly looking for him this time, but how could I be upset with this? Welcome back home, Marshal!
after my unfailing streak since restarting my island, i have finally failed and pulled a fish too early. my streak now rests at 222. (i was using another counter to keep track after 100) 😭 a legend has died today. I was really hoping on getting to 500
Restarted, went fishing, caught 100 fish in a row from the start, caught 2 awapaimas, stacked my whole island with donations for the museum, life is good. i feel very proud.
as you can see by my pile-up in front of me and maybe my previous post, i’ve just reset my island. i’ve been going around, catching all the fish and bugs i can. started piling them around for when the museum unlocks. i didn’t know if you could get any rare fish on the first day, but hey!
i’m also going for the cast master achievement. i’ve never gone for it before in any of my previous playthroughs, but haven’t failed once yet, knock on wood, and i’m nearly 60/100 now. if i can get it on the first day, along with a nice rare catch, it’ll be the best first day i’ve ever had in animal crossing!

This is a really small detail, but i’ve never noticed it before. I think it’s kinda cute that before Tom Nook “investigates” the fruit, but you can still grab them, it comes up with a question mark at the end!
i’ve had ACNH since 2020, i got it with the switch lite. I played the hell out of it back then, no cheats, doing everything the way it should be done (except i did time travel), my first ac game was acnl and i was obsessed, i became a walking wikipedia about that game and also played through it how it should’ve been played until i discovered the duping glitch. those were the days lmao
after a few years on acnh i discovered treasure islands. i’ve recently got a switch 2, and had a relatively fresh island (i reset a few months ago) which i uploaded onto the system, but i blasted through the start until 3 stars, using infinite bells and gold tools from treasure islands, so i could customise myself and my island and my home how i want to.
however… since joining this thread its reminded me of that sense of achievement you lose when you take shortcuts. i’m always going to time travel because i’m a busy guy and sometimes cba waiting around until the next day for something. but i might restart, and go from the ground up again on a new island, no treasures… at least until i’ve got 5 stars or spent a good long time on it without cheats. i think, if there’s any time to restart an island, summer is best, because you have more variety in bugs and fish for the museum.
what do u think? keep the island i have now and just work on it as i was, or restart and play the game as god intended?
