RuneScape: Dragonwilds Summit
Straight from the halls of RuneFest, here is your need-to-know look at the first-ever RuneScape: Dragonwilds Summit!
Illuminating Luminance
Let’s illuminate some of the details about the next Free Update coming to RuneScape: Dragonwilds this winter: Luminance.
Luminance, our December update, is a prelude to the Blood Crystal Saga coming next year. Although Kuldra’s reign has concluded, Ashenfall’s story continues, along with the ongoing call for heroes. Our brave adventurers - that’s you - will now be tasked with protecting Ceridwen and her child, two elves on the run from the merciless bounty hunter, Morwyn.
Ceridwen has an idea fueled by music. Instead of relying on deception and secrecy, you will become a master of the strings.
Master the Lyre and resonate with Songstones to discover your inner bard. Or resonate with Fairy Rings to journey to hidden destinations across Ashenfall.
Along with the enchanting music of the elves, we’re also introducing some fresh aesthetic options. Customize your character to become the elven hero you've always envisioned. With new facial features, you can craft a face worthy of elven royalty. And while those elven ears might not give you super hearing, they will give you that unmistakable magical look.
And truly look the part with new weapons, armour, and vestiges that you will track down using Harmonised Crystal Fragments.
Whether you're battling face-to-face or keeping your distance, you’ll be looking as intimidating as ever in the new elf armour.
Builders, rejoice! Luminance will bring the elegant green and white of Prifddinas to your creative fingertips. We know that you've been eagerly awaiting the next building kit to give you the perfect excuse to craft even bigger, better, and more stunning bases. This kit channels Prifddinas' architecture into Dragonwilds, including new arched roof pieces. We hope these building kits spark your creativity and inspire you as you explore the elegant elven style.
And save some space in your bases. Altars will be all the rage with the introduction of Prayer. Not the same skill you know from RuneScape and Old School RuneScape. This time, you will be engaging deeply in the practice to connect with the divine.
Scattering ashes. Burying bones. We’ll be sharing more about the Prayer skill, what you can expect, and how it’ll build into your wider adventure closer to the release.
Exploring the Blood Crystal Saga
The Blood Crystal Saga will be told across two chapters. It IS a Saga after all. And the first chapter is Song of Rebellion.
Singing the Song of Rebellion
A fragmented band of Rebel Elves will seek your help to evade the threat of the Nos Clan, who are rising up to jeopardize the peace only now established by in the wake of Kuldra's death.
You’ll be welcomed into the elven city of Ailddinas. A land of towering crystalline spires, intertwined with a vast and mystical forest. However, the city has been corrupted by the Nos Clan, and this corruption has extended into the surrounding woodland.
Implings have been popping up all over this part of Ashenfall. Do not be fooled by their wild attempts at looking adorable. With the addition of these menaces, along with new variations of kebbits, as well as grizzly bears and birds, you will have your hands full of creatures you’ll need to hunt down.
Hunt being the important word. The next skill coming to RuneScape: Dragonwilds will be the Hunter Skill. This is the first of several new skills coming next year.
Players will learn how to sneak, trap, and collect a variety of unsuspecting creatures with the Hunter skill. And those players will need some pretty cool elven equipment to make it possible.
Elves, Implings, and Grizzly Bears–oh my! Song of Rebellion is chock-full of exciting adventures. And this is only the first chapter of the Blood Crystal Saga.
Donning the Crown of Night
Crown of Night brings more of what you love to the shores and hills of Ashenfall. Something has to be done about the Nos Clan and their expanding influence. More specifically, you will have to do something to end the terror that is the Nos Clan.
Heroes will be sent into the heart of the enemy. Into their darkened lands, in an eternal night due to a perpetual eclipse. Not ominous at all.
Players will harness the Light of Seren to fight back against the clan that is shrouded in darkness. You will craft new legendary weapons and armour to cleave a separation between the Amina and the leaders of the Nos Clan. The princes of the Nos Clan will not go down without a harrowing fight. You must seek iconic, legendary weapons like the Dark Bow and the Ivandis Flail to bring this clan to their knees.
Beyond the Next Year
While the Blood Crystal Saga may come to a close, the story of RuneScape: Dragonwilds will continue beyond Crown of Night.
What will also continue is our promises to you – Free Updates, adding side quests, more weapons, decorations, rewards, and adventures for you to get sucked into as you prepare for each of our chapters to come. Beyond this, there will also be consistent quality-of-life improvements being added to the game, driven by your feedback.
This is only the beginning! We cannot wait to build the future of RuneScape: Dragonwilds with you.
Modding
As a first step to building this world together, we aim to unleash the creativity of game makers on Ashenfall by bringing Modding to Dragonwilds, officially. Dedicated creation tools and an in-game mod browser and installer are coming to all platforms.
Expect this exciting new part of the game to go live in the first half of 2027, coinciding with Song of Rebellion, Secure Servers and Leaderboards.
From all of us on the RuneScape: Dragonwilds team - thank you for your trust, your passion, and your faith in us to deliver this exciting new frontier of RuneScape. We're committed to the future of Dragonwilds as the third pillar alongside RuneScape and Old School RuneScape… and the future is looking bright!
