PSA: Find the Sanguine Urns ASAP

I think this is a good representation of how BS the damage can be from the most random mobs. Also the way there was zero indication that the bastard was going to hit me. Most mobs have some form of telegraphing attacks, but I guess this goat decided he’s just built different this time.

Adding Merchants is underrated

The Dev team adding a seamless way for players to get rid of unneeded materials while gaining a currency to buy other materials or items they may need is really amazing. Having to delete stacks of unneeded materials or just leave them sitting in a chest was annoying... Jagex found a way to let players get rid of these items while gaining a worthwhile currency by adding shops that sell general materials from earlier regions... What a great addition!

Clean Water from Wells and Rain Catchers

I understand they are "farming" items... but it would be really great if we could collect clean water from the wells and rain catchers instead of having to collect dirty water and cook it...One button could be used to fill a watering can and a different one for collecting the "clean water cooking item." I feel like it would be a solid QOL change. *Also please add dirty water to the Merchant Shops!!* (also a bigger compost bucket please!)

What am I hearing? I disabled fog in the ini file, so I probably shouldn't even be able to see this broken area of the desert, but what is this creeping slamming sound?

Anybody else figure this out? Cus I didn't for a long time.

Never thought to click the middle of the nav wheel when setting a marker, i thought it was just a placeholder or menu flair.

It puts a physical marker in the world you can run too. Makes navigation a bit easier.

Dragonwilds PvP Video

I know that PvP is not the focus of the game and that this video is not the greatest display of it but i would love if they could refine PvP.

Also, i cant find much videos on youtube or anywhere so felt like sharing here

Cheers

How are exploration and gear?

Eyeing this game with my friend since the summer sale is in full swing, the combat looks awesome (slow and tactical), from what I heard the difficulty is on the higher side and the art direction is right up my alley too.

However as much as I don't mind survival tropes, that is crafting and building, I am by far more of an adventurer than I am a builder. Dungeons and loot are what I love.

So here is my question, are the dungeons and other dangerous places fun and worthwhile? Is there varied gear to be obtained? How is buildcraft? Is the game a good adventure RPG or is it strictly a survival game?

I saw some complaints about chests and loot, but it's been a while since those posts and maybe some stuff changed?

Buddy not summoning

I unlocked the Pharaoh scepter and have been using it. When I use the special attack to summon buddy it can sometimes take up to 20 casts for him to finally summon while I'm in the middle of combat. Is this on purpose or is my staff bugged?

I was spamming him during the kalphite queen fight and he finally summoned on the second phase with about 30% health.

What do we know….

As for ascension cores and shards, what exactly do they do and how many should we get?

Also what items should we upgrade for next season installment?

I’m thinking eldin bow, pharaoh staff and titans sword, Abby whip.

And what should we stock up on for next update?

Yew Farm Plots + Umbral Sands review

Can we PLEASE lower the four side walls of the Yew farm plots so I can run over them without having to jump up in the air to get over them?

Also, I got a bug where Umbral sands music was still playing over Brynmoor music despite me fast traveling back home. Hopefully it isn’t there tonight when I get on but we will see.

Lots of bugs this time around, but so far the content has been great. I still would like to see deeper NPC interaction, as they come off as thin in their words and actions. They also do not move at all, which is weird to me. Enemies are diverse and fun to fight, and the scorch is annoyingly good as a concept to make the desert feel about as horrible as it probably is in the middle of the day.

One issue I have noticed is that there is always one entrance and one hard exit for each area in DW. This makes the game feel very linear. We need an area that has more than one way in and that can connect all of the areas together.

The armor progression at some point needs a shake up, in my opinion. It feels very cookie cutter to me and I can tell it’s causing a growing lack of interest.

Ranged needs some major work because it’s definitely the weakest out of the three fighting types.

Stamina, well we need more, but I’m sure that’s to come.

If anyone knows any good spots to place a house in the desert, let me know, I’m on the prowl.

What're your consumables of choice for Fuzan / Fight Caves?

Hey yall,

Got some time to farm for Fuzan / Fight Caves and was wondering what food / stam teas / potions you've had success with for the fights. I usually main ranged / melee and my friend is more mage-focused

Lemme know!

0.12.0.8 is going live!

Heads up adventurers!

We'll be shipping another hotfix this morning - your dedicated servers will need to be restarted to apply the update!

  • Kharidian Flax and Redberry Floor Pieces will no longer cause a crash if you log out standing on them.
  • Fuzan can no longer follow the player out of Umbral Sands if you teleport away.
  • Combat Music now correctly resolves in Umbral Sands. Anxiety begone!

You can also still give us your feedback in the survey here, so get involved!

Inconsistency between map borders

Though it seems minor, one thing that bothers me with Dragonwilds is the big inconsistency between how map borders are defined across zones.

After Brynmoor and Ghornfell, every other zone is circled with an impassable barrier - usually a big wall or something - that makes little sense to it's surrounding geography. While that's quite understandable in Fellhollow, Dowdun Reach and Umbral Sands should have no physical (or at least visible) wall separating them from the rest of the world. It looks ugly on the map (and inconsistent with the first two zones) and keeps players from the wonder of seeing a zone from a distance.

Think of it like this: after you reach Fellhollow, from that point onwards, you'll never see the ocean jn the new zones anymore. It's simply gone. You'll always be surrounded by barriers wherever you go, like you're forever in a valley or corridor. It's contained in such a way that makes it feel less like a open world and more like small levels.
