The first roll came in! Kodak UltraMax 400

I have always had a complicated relationship with photography. It felt like something that takes one out of the moment and shifts focus towards a phone. As the social media came to be and became more of a thing over the years, it became interesting to observe how it would affect the photos that my friends and family would take. Initially it would be things to remember, then it became things to share, and for some of them it eventually became what activities we would do. The editing of digital photos also didn't seem like something for me.

But then recently I started to wonder if there was a way for me to fall in love with photography. If there was a way to replace a phone with something tactile and pleasant to use. To introduce some limitations that I couldn't get around to make sure that I would take photos intentionally. And it would be nice to get a look with a character that didn't require a whole lot of editing on my part.

And so I've decided to try film! Pentax17 is an absolute joy to use, love the tactility and the simplicity of it. Now on to learning composition and the other basics...
