I love this camera so much and how accessible it makes film photography. It is tactile enough to give a hearty experience, while also being auto enough to make it easy and accessible. The lens and light meter are also nothing to sneeze at.
not too happy with the results but sharing to see what people think:)
1: E100
2-3: Ektar
4-5: Portra 160
6-8: Portra 400
9: Leica Monopan 50
The Pentax 17 has to be the best camera ever made for backpacking. I got 8x12 prints made from these and they look fantastic. I thought I would regret not having a full frame camera, but it was absolutely worth it especially in terms of saving on weight and space.
Hi guys, wanted some advice on whether the Pentax 17 will be good for someone wanting to start on Film Photography? I have read online reviews and such on the Pentax 17 but I wanted reviews from people like you who own the camera and has been using it extensively. Please give me some Pros and Cons if possible. Thank you!!!
I bought it on eBay and unfortunately it didn't come with the original wrist strap. The green wrap is nice though.
First impressions:
-Nice and light (that's a positive for me)
-I don't love the viewfinder. It's a little cramped and I don't like the blue cast. I'm sure I'll get used to it.
Loaded it up with Ultramax 400.
I'm going to shoot at box speed/ 0 compensation. I'll adjust on the next roll based on the results. Really looking forward to using it.
Shot on spring this year, lens is sharp.
Really didn’t need this but got it for a steal, looking forward to making diptychs mostly
I want to try E100 for the first time. I have a Pentax 17. Is the light meter reliable for this film or should I bump the exposure dial? I know E100 needs to be exposed pretty precisely.
Shot my last roll of Fuji 400 before parting ways with the 17. Sadly it just wasn't getting used as much as I'd hoped. Scanned and developed at Bellows Film Lab in Atlanta.
I've just purchased the Pentax 17.
I don't really like flash photography, so I'm most likely to use this camera in "P" and "Night" modes.
I've read that the minimum shutter is limited to 1/30 in "P", and you can go up to 4 seconds in "Night".
What is the fastest shutter speed in "Night" mode? Is it stuck between 4 seconds and 1/30, or can I go faster than 1/30?
First roll of film through this camera. Love this little thing!
