Shrek and Rio similarities

So I just rewatched Shrek for its 25th anniversary re-release in theaters and realized both this film and Rio are similar.

Both films open with the protagonist having limitations, being single and living peaceful lives but have bullies who interfere with their freedom

Both films have a side-character (Donkey and Rafael) that helps the protagonist change and fall in love with the female character

Both films have the protagonist go on a quest and return home when complete but decide to marry the one they love instead

Both films have the female character accepting the protagonist but eventually reject when the protagonist crashes out over his limitations but then comes back together when the protagonist finds out the fault and to stop the antagonist from taking away the ones he loves from him

Both films have the antagonist threatening the main characters romance for their own personal gain
