Looking for help with half dead maple
Hello all, i'm looking for any info as to if there's anything I can do to help this tree. I am an absolute novice and know little to nothing about any plants, i've done a bit of research as to how to care for it. I'm in florida, I made sure it has decent shade and isn't in direct sunlight all day long, I make sure to not over water it. However, over this summer parts of it have started to die. I just want to know what to do, i've done scratch tests on some of the limbs which appear brown and fully dead, my main concern is how the main stem is starting to go as well. I really want to save the tree if possible before it's too late if not already. Any information would be super appreciated.
Additional info: the tree is about 3-4 years old I believe. It's my dad's, he moved out of state and didn't have room to bring it, but he wants to come back for it eventually. I'm no plant expert but I imagine it's not intended to be in that pot for so long, I don't know if that's contributing to its demise, but at this point I just want to save the tree. So again if anybody could help point me in the right direction I would be very grateful
TLDR: Tree is dying, is there anything I can do?
