Not sure why everyone’s framing cassie as this useless bum who can’t do anything, and then acting like that’s all she is as if her entire character arc doesn’t revolve around becoming stronger. More specifically, her arc centers around her gaining the three things she’s told she needs at the start of the chapter right after the Korblox encounter during the coronation. Strength, experience, and support. (Although do note that you can only tell her that she needs one of the above in actual gameplay).

She gains experience by travelling with you throughout Trinity, collecting the sanctum keys and learning from you as you go on. She gains strength from supporting you in battles as well as the power of the Windforce. and by the end of chapter, she has the strength and experience she needs to be the next Wind Walker, now she just needs your support to defeat Frostmaw and win the war with the Korblox. While there’s no major plot twist with her character or anything like some of the previous chapters would have you expect, I think this climax and resolution is really satisfying either way you put it. In order for Cassie’s arc to play out, you kind of had to take a backseat this chapter so she could grow. Obviously if they did this every chapter, then that’d be a problem, but for a single chapter i’m perfectly okay with the player’s role being suppressed a bit for the sake of another character’s interesting story.

also one more minor point, the reason why the Trinity Council attacks you despite Robur and Azuri seeming chill, is that they don’t want you manipulating Cassie into giving up the Windforce, it’d put Trinity at risk considering they are in the midst of war. They gave Cassie the sanctum keys for a reason.

It kind of sucks seeing a character and a story that i liked a lot bashed constantly online for things that aren’t even really true, so if I changed at least one opinion here, i’m happy. Anyways i’ve said my piece, cya.
