Used Alpacka Wolverine, Curiyak for Sale (reduced)

Both boats are used. For more info, lots of pics, and a video I made of the Wolverine, see my post here. DM me through Reddit, or email me from that blog post if you're interested.

Asking $900 (OBO) for Wolverine and $400 (OBO) for Curiyak.
Venmo or Paypall FF, add G/S fee if you want. I'll ship to Lower 48 but hit me up if you’re in Alaska and we can figure out shipping.

New Satellite Flow Gauge Service (free) 🎒🗺️🤳📡←→🛰️📉🚣‍♂️😎

Paddle or Portage is a free service (no account needed) that texts you USGS or WSC water gauge information while in the field, even outside of cell range. Get the river flow info you need live while on a packrafting trip.

Instructions at PaddleOrPortage.com

I posted about this a month ago, but it now works in Canada as well as the US, and I'm taking off the beta label. I don't have a Facebook account (or other social media) so feel free to post about this on other packrafting groups.

Thanks to everyone who's helped get this up and running.

Hey packrafters,

I made a free service (no account needed) that you can text from the backcountry to get flow information when you don't have internet or signal. Get gauge info on your inReach, basically.

PaddleOrPortage.com (detailed instructions)

I need help though.

It needs tested. There are a variety of different satellite hardware/software/backend telephony combinations, and I only own an inReach and an iPhone. I want to build a comprehensive list of devices the service works on, and try to develop a fix for the ones it doesn't.

If you have any of the following devices (especially the ☑️ ones), would you mind texting the service from your device to test whether it works or not? Just send a USGS Gauge number like 03410210 to (507) 728-3569 [507 SAT-FLOW] and you'll receive a text back with info. Over cell it happens in under a second, but it can take several minutes over satellite.

✅ iPhone w/ cell service

❌ iPhone over satellite (working on it)

✅ inReach (satellite)

✅ Android w/ cell service

☑️ Android over satellite

☑️ Dumbphone w/ cell service

☑️ Zoleo (satellite)

☑️ SPOT (satellite)

☑️ Bivy Stick (satellite)

☑️ Somewear Global Hotspot (satellite)

☑️ Any I've missed?

If you test it, would you mind commenting below or DM'ing me whether it worked for you or not? I'll update the list as we get 2 or more consistent results from a device.

I intend to keep the service free, and hopefully expand in time to other areas beyond the US. Let's get this up and running before packrafting season.

Somewhat related, Luc shared with me that there's a free weather service for Garmin inReach users: WX2inReach.

Thanks everybody,

James Taylor
