Matai flooring work in progress

I posted a month ago with a wee hiccup in my flooring restoration project. I've done a good bunch more and I'm finally seeing light at the end of the tunnel. After sanding yesterday and today and a first coat of varnish this afternoon, I've decided I never want to do flooring finishing again!

Floor renno can-of-worms

Oh dear me, this started a few months ago when I started to pull up the floating floor that was starting to look shabby. There were just a few metres square to sort out, right. But once I got the floor all exposed there were a few more large patches. Alright I can do this.

Today I pulled up a large section of the patchwork particle board and matai t&g to reuse, and bought 60lm more matai to replace the patches. When I got into it I found that two of the joists are just floating in the breeze and that bottom plate/joist looks just as bad.

Anyway, no complaints, I've just got a lot to do, and another trip to the hardware store!
