How does the community feel about banning AI posts and/or self promotion in this sub? [Message for mods]

In the last 9 days alone, there have been 3 posts promoting vibe-coded AI apps for diabetes-related purposes (1, 2, 3). I also have seen many posts about 'Shotclockr' which are written by AI and fake accounts are used to falsely promote it.

The posts all use the same format, i..e "I'm genuinely curious what works for you" "I'm a long-time lurker" etc etc.

I understand why one might want to take all of the knowledge on feline diabetes and throw it into an app. It's a lot of information and it takes a lot of experience to build that knowledge.

However, this is a community of volunteers who so kindly provide their expertise in so many forums - Reddit, the FB group, and of course, the Feline Diabetes Message Board. It feels wrong to me to promote apps written by AI, designed by people who have very little experience compared to those who offer their support every single day to the community.

Where are they planning to give back? If it takes off are they going to donate proceeds to the FDMB?

I would love if these posts could be banned. I really don't think they add anything to this subreddit. These are frankly vibe-coded garbage apps with no reviews or testimonials from ACTUAL vets or longtime members of the community who can verify that ANY of the features or advice given through these apps are valid and accurate.

The tried and true way to get help with feline diabetes is to use the literal 24/7 HUMAN support system that we are all so lucky to have.

I am not sure if everyone feels this way but considering these posts are becoming more frequent I thought I would ask.

Got out of the train around 5pm and right in front of the door were a bunch of cops and EMT and FDNY who directed me away. Unfortunately I looked down and what I saw was horrific. Anyone know what happened and/or if the man is alive?

Hi!

My doc said I was B12 deficient after I had a level of 200 (close to borderline since low end of range is 240). The following week I brought in my b12 prescription and we chatted through labs and she gave me my first shot. 20 min or so later, a nurse took my blood for the PA labs.

On Monday, I got another shot, and we reviewed the labs and my IF was 16.4, way over the high end of 1.1 for the normal range. The other test MMA was normal. My doc said normally both things are high if you have PA so she didn't want to diagnose me yet and referred me to a GI doc.

The GI doc today said it seems like I caught it early because all of the other signs in labs are normal (MCV, MMA, etc) but the IF is elevated so she diagnosed me with PA. I scheduled an endoscopy to get a baseline of my stomach lining.

So I didn't realize until I got home from the GI doc visit that the timing of the shot could have interfered with the results of the lab, and maybe all of this is a false positive? The GI doc said she normally doesn't see people having symptoms with a 200 result for B12. I originally went to my doc for headaches which of course can be caused by a number of things, so it's possible that I was just dehydrated or stressed or something and that this B12 thing is a misleading path I'm going down?

I messaged my primary doc to ask about the timing of the shot + bloodwork, but it seems obvious this would have affected the test?

Just curious if anyone has thoughts on this and how I should move forward. It seems like I'd need to take a break from shots now to actually get an accurate reading?
