I’ve been going back and forth for days now and honestly can’t decide which Garmin to buy.

I’m currently using an Apple Watch Ultra 2 and want to switch to Garmin mainly for:

• battery life (i hate the AWU2 Battery)
• training features
• outdoor/navigation features
• durability
• better recovery/training metrics
• and just a more serious sports/outdoor watch overall

I also run half marathons/marathons and I’m planning to get more into longer distance running/marathons.

The watches I’m currently considering are:

• Fenix 8 AMOLED 47mm
• Epix Pro Gen 2 Sapphire 51mm
• Forerunner 970
• Enduro 3

Deals/prices I found (trustable shops):

• Fenix 8 AMOLED 47mm (non-sapphire) refurbished “very good” for 579€
• Epix Pro Gen 2 Sapphire 51mm Titanium DLC refurbished “excellent” for 470€
• FR970 for 600€ (Special Work Offer)
• Enduro 3 around normal retail pricing

What I’m struggling with:

• Is the Fenix 8 actually worth paying more for over the Epix Pro Gen 2?
• Does the Epix still feel modern in 2026?
• Is the Enduro 3 too specialized unless you’re doing ultra distances?
• Does the FR970 feel noticeably less premium compared to Fenix/Epix?
• Is sapphire worth choosing an older platform for?

Would especially love opinions from people who owned multiple of these or switched from an Apple Watch Ultra.
