[IMPORTANT] Sofa Time Android Beta: Moving from Internal Beta to Closed Beta

Hi everyone!

The Sofa Time Android internal beta has received an unexpectedly great response, and we’ve already reached the user limit for that testing track.

Because of this, I’ve now opened the closed beta, which does not have the same user limit. From now on, I’ll stop supporting the internal beta, so I strongly recommend that everyone currently enrolled in the internal beta moves to the closed beta.

To join the closed beta, please uninstall the current app first, then open this link and join again:

Thank you so much for all the support, feedback, and interest in Sofa Time for Android!

TV Time is shutting down: import your data into Sofa Time

Hi everyone,

After TV Time’s shutdown notice, Sofa Time supports importing TV Time data using either TV Time Out or TV Time Liberator.

You can find both options in Sofa Time → Settings → Import library.

TV Time Out

  1. Install the TV Time Out Chrome extension.
  2. Sign in to TV Time in Chrome.
  3. Export your movies, series, and personal lists.
  4. Compress the exported JSON files into a single ZIP.
  5. In Sofa Time, choose TV Time Out and select the ZIP.

TV Time Liberator

  1. Install the TV Time Liberator Chrome extension.
  2. Sign in to TV Time in Chrome and run the extension.
  3. Use the generated watchlist.csv file.
  4. In Sofa Time, choose TV Time Liberator and select the CSV.

Both options are viable. If one does not work well for your account or export, try the other one. Sofa Time will import watched history and watchlists, and personal lists when available.

Sofa Time for Android: Internal Beta Testing Is Now Live!

After a lot of work, I’m happy to announce that the internal beta testing program for Sofa Time on Android is finally active.

This is the first testing phase before opening the app to more users, so I’m looking for people who want to try the Android version early, share feedback, report bugs, and help shape the final release.

The app already includes the core Sofa Time experience for tracking movies and TV shows, with more features and improvements coming as development continues.

If you’re interested in joining the internal beta, please send me a private message here on Reddit and I’ll share the next steps.

Thanks again for all the support and patience. Android is finally happening :)

Sofa Time 7.2.0 is now available – Native Sofa Time accounts are finally here! 🚀

Hi everyone!

Version 7.2.0 is now available on the App Store.
The biggest addition in this release is something many of you have been requesting for a long time: native Sofa Time accounts.

You can now create and sign in with your own Sofa Time account, making it easier than ever to keep your data synced across devices without relying exclusively on third-party services.

Don’t worry if you’re already using another sync method—nothing changes for you. The new Sofa Time login coexists with all existing options, including iCloud, Trakt, Simkl, and MDBList, so you can continue using the workflow that best fits your needs.

This update also includes a number of general bug fixes and stability improvements to make the app even more reliable.

Finally, a quick Android update: development is going really well, and I’m happy to say that the public testing phase is getting very close. I can’t wait to share it with all of you soon.

As always, thank you for all your feedback, bug reports, and feature requests. They continue to shape the future of Sofa Time. ❤️

🤖 Sofa Time for Android — Public Beta Coming Soon

Hey everyone!

First of all, sorry for being a bit quiet on this subreddit lately.

The reason is simple: I’ve been spending about 90% of my free time working on the Android version of Sofa Time, and it’s finally starting to come together really well.

I’m happy to share that the public beta is coming soon.

The goal from day one has been to bring the full Sofa Time experience to Android rather than releasing a stripped-down version. Because of that, I’ve taken the time to build a solid foundation before opening the doors to everyone.

The first Android beta will already include the vast majority of features available on iOS, including:

- TV show and movie tracking
- Up Next and Upcoming episodes
- Watchlists and personal lists
- Ratings and viewing history
- Discover and Trending sections
- Calendar
- Streaming availability
- Statistics and progress tracking
- Widgets
- Trakt, Simkl and MDBList integration
- Multi-login support (Trakt + Simkl + MDBList at the same time)
- Themes and customization options
- Local/Offline data support

There are still a few things to polish, but we’re getting very close.

Thank you all for your patience, feedback, and support. Seeing so many people asking for an Android version over the years has been a huge motivation to make this happen.

Stay tuned for more details about the public beta very soon!

Hey everyone!

I’ve just released Sofa Time 7.0.0, and this is probably the biggest update in the app’s 6-year history. It brings some highly requested features, major improvements, and a big step forward in reliability.

Here’s what’s new:

🔗 Multi-login support: You can now connect multiple accounts/services at the same time.

📡 Offline-ready: The app now works in read-only mode without an internet connection since your data is fully persisted on device.

🛡️More resilient to third-party issues: If services like Trakt go down, Sofa Time keeps working normally.

📥 Letterboxd import: Bring your movies, watched history, ratings, watchlist, and personal lists.

📦 IMDb import: Import your watchlist, ratings, and lists from the ZIP export.

📺 Improved TV Time import: Better compatibility + proper rewatch support.

🔁 “Watched multiple times” filter: Easily find everything you’ve rewatched.

⚠️New Danger Zone: More control over deleting local and iCloud data.

🙈 Hide ratings for unwatched movies and shows: Keep things spoiler-free.

Performance improvements: Faster loading, saving, and syncing across the app.

☁️More reliable iCloud sync: Better handling of changes + clearer progress.

🐞 General bug fixes and polish.

This update is a big step forward, especially if you use multiple services, want to migrate your data more easily, or just expect the app to be fast and reliable at all times.

If you try it out, I’d love to hear your feedback!

If you need any help, feel free to reach out at: support@theclashsoft.com / send me a DM or comment here.

Thanks again for using Sofa Time 🙌

Hey everyone! 👋

This is a big one.

Version 7.0.0 of Sofa Time is introducing one of the most requested features ever: multi-login. Comming soon to the App Store!

You can now connect all supported services at the same time — yes, really:

- Simkl

- Trakt

- MDBList

- iCloud

No more choosing just one. No more juggling accounts.

Everything works together seamlessly, and you don’t have to worry about a thing. Sofa Time will handle the syncing and coordination behind the scenes so you can just focus on tracking and discovering content.

We know this has been a highly demanded feature for a long time, and we’re really excited to finally put it in your hands.

And this is just the beginning — this update also includes many more improvements that we’ll be sharing with you very soon.

As always, thanks for all your feedback and support. It truly shapes the app 🙌
