Tanner Scott Appreciation

We know what Tanner went through last week with his family and how he struggled last year. But, I appreciate this dude for stepping up, especially when Eddie Díaz went into IL.

Last day of long-term subbing assignment

Today is the last day of my long-term substitute assignment and student gave me this note. I still need to start an induction program but this note will be something that I can read when I have a bad day

Teacher appreciation week last week

Having these groups of kids for a few months as a long-term sub made me realize that I am making a difference. I am not sure where I will be at next school year but looking forward for summer school

Goatforto's stats from yesterday. I bet that 2025 ring gave him an insane amount of confidence

I apologize if I am venting.  On Friday, I was off campus due to medical and dental appointments. On Thursday (the day before), I wrote down the agenda and lesson plan, and I also reminded my students the whole week that they were going to take a quiz on Friday. I also printed the quizzes out and left them on my desk on Thursday. I checked my classroom on Friday afternoon after school since the dental clinic was near the school. My student from another class (we meet every other week, so I didn’t have that student this week) reminded me that my class wasn’t doing anything at all, even though, like I mentioned, I reminded them the whole week that they would be taking the quiz.  That student said that class was off-task (scrolling on their phones), and according to them, other teachers did complain about my class. The sub left no note or mention of what my students did. I believe that the student was telling me the truth since the first thing I saw was a stack of blank quizzes that were supposed to be administered to my students. My students know that unless announced, Friday is quiz/test day, and we do it on pencil and paper. I spent Friday night crying that I wasn’t structured enough, and I feel like I am the problem that it affected their learning (I am a long-term sub for 2 months after my students went through multiple teachers but I enjoy having them)
