Does it get easier / any tips?

Hello! My kick scooter arrived today. I bought it specifically to ‘commute’ to a running track which is 1.2 miles / 25 minute walk each way - I enjoy the walk and it’s a good warm-up, etc but I don’t have 50 minutes just for the journey so hoping the kick scooter can help me do the journey in ten minutes each way.

Anyway, I haven’t ridden a kick scooter for over twenty years and it is hard! I don’t remember it being hard at all as a kid! I was also very surprised by how fast it goes. I did a bit of practice today and I am hopeful my riding will get better with time so I will take it out for practice too but I wondered if anyone had any tips that go beyond ‘just keep practicing’.

I will mostly ride on the pavement (I am in London) and will be a very considerate rider, but the issue is that none of the pavements are even, a few of them are narrow, it’s a mix of uphill/downhill and all quite busy - so not really a good route to practice but the route I ultimately would like to do. I am also conscious of the need to alternate which leg I push with.

Sorry for the long-ish post and any tips will be graciously received. Thank you!

Toilet with built in bidet - UK

Hello! I am currently overseeing a wet room renovation for my parents - my father, in particular, has a range of health problems so we want this bathroom to be as accessible as possible. My mum and I settled on a douche bidet but midway through the work he is insistent that he wants a toilet with a built in bidet (‘like they have in Turkey’) - see picture.

Does anyone in the UK have experience of installing this style of toilet? What has it been like (pros/cons)? Where did you purchase it (mainstream suppliers don’t seem to have a big range).

Any information would be really appreciated. I am only getting so far with my own research.

Thank you so much!

PS - we don’t want a flashy toilet with all the buttons and such so not going down that route.
