Who you won’t for in the Municipal election

There is often a checklist for candidates a voter is leaning towards.

What do you use as a measure to select your Mayor or councillors?

Who do you believe is the most trustworthy to be in control of your utilities and local environment for the next 4 years? Who is the least trustworthy and why?

Why wouldn’t you vote Julius? Ashton? Beverly? Et al?

Why wouldn’t you for Ryan Graham, Shannon Stewart or such?

Please note, making claims of fraud, abuse or other unethical scenarios without providing evidence is just ignorance.

Election has been called

What party will you vote for?
Will you vote?
Will you vote Boultbee back in?
Will you revisit other candidates from the previous election?
Would you want Tina Lee to run again? As NDP?
Would you Conservative just because?
Would you vote Green just because?
Would you vote Liberal if Falcon gets out of the way?
Or vote Centrist just because?
Will you take the time learn more about the candidates to choose based on the best representation?

Municipal Election time

The list is out. https://www.castanet.net/news/Penticton/630967/Busy-field-of-candidates-in-South-Okanagan-Similkameen-district-areas-and-municipal-races

Now is the time to learn about your candidates, update your knowledge of Municipal Governance, and teach your kids, friends and newcomers to the area why voting for legitimate representatives is imperative.

Choosing representatives with integrity, education, specialization, and an understanding of municipal governance will serve the municipality well.

Remember, you are voting for people who will be in control of your utilities (water, electricity, sewage, garbage etc.) for the next 4 years.

Choosing representatives out of spite, personal beliefs, or assumed Federal/Provicial party affiliation is not choosing wisely. Ignorance breeds inefficiency. Know your candidates!

A former mayor of Golden, BC, once responded to a question regarding promises made by candidates as such - Once the candidates are elected, they are not bound to live up to their promises or policies shared during the debates or election period. This is a reminder that integrity, honesty, and expertise matter. Please choose wisely.
