F150 to Tundra Help Please
Hey all,
I have a 2018 F150 Platinum that I am looking to trade for a Tundra. Reasons are... Cam Phaser issue slips in 4th gear, and a few other things that I am sick of.
I was thinking about a Tundra, but not the new model due to reliability issues. I am looking for reliability.
Things I hate about the F150- mechanical issues (this will be the 4th time in shop @ 80k miles and I use as daily driver/hauler), 20" wheels (easy fix I know but I prefer 18 for ride and cosmetics), the seemingly eventual turbo failure and other probable mechanical things. I know things happen, but we have kids now and it's just super annoying to lose a vehicle for a week.
Things I love about it- cabin is very quiet, excellent sound system, the cavernous backseat with seats up. It is an ecoboost so MPG is 19-ish.
Looking at 2021 Tundra Limited with OR Package. For projects, hauling lightly, camping, just random stuff. What are your thoughts on the transition from a super nice F150 to the older model tundra? Will the cabin noise be overbearing? Do you feel the loss of MPG kills the entire concept?
Plan to keep for as long as I can >10 years. In the next 3 ish years transition it from daily driver to farm truck and camping kind of thing.
If you recommend a newer Tundra over this, I would probably prefer just another F150 with a good warranty.
