Cary Christopher in Lanterns & Other Days Sightings

I'm surprised I haven't seen anyone post about Cary Christopher (ex-Thomas) in yet another high-profile series, this time the DC drama Lanterns. This means that with Spider-Noir, he has already appeared in both DC and Marvel projects (although Sony Marvel, not the MCU Marvel). He plays the young version of a small town son in 2016 in a series that looks like it will jump back and forth.

Meanwhile these other ones might have been pointed out before as they aren't new shows, but I was watching Future Man and saw Raven Bowens (Chanel) in one episode as "Jennifer" while Timothy Horner, Leo's juror roommate, recurs in season 2.

And I also was watching The Last Ship and was like, why does that guy look so familiar? When I realized the one off in season 5 was played by Brandon Barash (ex?-Stefan).

But since Cary is the actual new one, here are also some photos of him at the premiere! Love his outfit!

An Italian Adventure?

This is only a minor spoiler for what has aired so far including today's episodes but not spoilers for the future, just speculation and "wishing." Because sadly, we all know Days no longer has the budget..

SPOILER ALERT if you haven't seen today's episode yet... Minor one as it's not a huge plot point...

But Leo and Dimitri discussing going to Rome today had me thinking, what if a bunch of Days characters ended up in Italy and somehow all got pulled into an adventure?

The obvious is of course Belle and Chad, and the thought that something could happen to them with the chess board mystery. If Leo was in Italy and ran into Chad but then Chad went missing, he would want to find him despite Dimitri's objections.

Meanwhile, I was thinking what if Cat taking care of EJ while sick made him have a flashback that he was determined to go visit the facility. He would invite Cat who would reluctantly agree both for her own memory but also to try to cover up any evidence linking her to the ISA. Which, Dimitri finally recognizing her could complicate things too! But both would care about Chad & Belle.

Meanwhile, we have Philip that might be going to nearby Monte Carlo, and maybe Gabi goes with if she's fronting the money. And maybe something goes wrong and they end up on the run, crossing into Italy...

Possibly Kristen could be hiding out there. I don't think she is because of the actress resting while doing Y&R, but throwing it out there.

And back home, Marlena that has been reluctant to get involved might find herself pulled in for the sake of her daughter. But maybe she enlists the likes of Patch, Brady, Paul, any of them as well.

Ideally there would be something with Sami just because of location, but we know that's unlikely too.

As I said at the start, I don't think Days has the budget or scale for this sort of thing anymore. I really wish it did. But if it did, is there anyone else you would have end up in Italy for a crossing paths adventure, and what would be the reason you would have them over there?

Quick Draw Show Coming to Blu-Ray! Hopefully Soon to MeTV Toons!

So I suspected we might be hearing something on this when Quick Draw was listed as coming to Tubi last spring, and now it's official - Warner Archive has announced a Sept. 29th release for the restored Quick Draw McGraw Show, which also includes Augie Doggie & Doggie Daddy and Snooper & Blabber! Though I haven't seen an announcement yet from MeTV Toons, this should mean that shorts will be added House of Hanna-Barbera by fall or so, and possibly his show joining the line-up sometime in the near-ish future as well. This is just an educated guess based on Yogi/Huck joining after those shows were restored and announced for Warner Archive, but hopefully we hear something official soon - Stay Tooned!

YIPPEE-I-O-KAY A! HERE COMES THE QUICK DRAW McGRAW SHOW! Hold your horses, cartoon fans! Hanna-Barbera’s timeless comedic fan favorite finally arrives on Blu-ray with all forty-five of its delightful episodes. For the first time ever, the Warner Archive Collection proudly presents the complete television run of The Quick Draw McGraw Show, bringing all forty-five historic half-hour episodes together in one spectacular, milestone collection. Each episode delivers the original triple-segment broadcast experience: the satirical Western antics of Quick Draw McGraw and his faithful sidekick Baba Looey, the heartwarming domestic comedy of Augie Doggie and Doggie Daddy, and the sharp-witted noir parodies of Snooper and Blabber. For fans of classic television animation, this is the holy grail release you have been waiting for. Now step aside, thin-skinned humans—Quick Draw McGraw is back in town…and don’t you forget it!!"

[I believe the special featurette is a short doc that was first seen on "Saturday Morning Cartoons: 1960s Volume 1" from 2009].

Jean Lodge Dies: British Actor And Mother Of Days Of Our Lives Star Charles Shaughnessy Was 99

She's had an incredible career in her own right, but I was a bit unsure about posting about the mom of a star until I saw her other son David was involved as a director on Days of Our Lives. She might not have been on it herself but that makes her doubly connected to the show. Condolences to Charles, David, & all their loved ones.

Details & Promo for No Refunds: An Acme Celebration

I know this has been posted about but we now have an official release confirming this for Sunday August 23rd at 7/6c, seemingly preempting Jetsons & Flintstones for the night and airing ahead of Sunday Cartoon All-Stars. It looks to just be an hour worth of shorts, though I'm not sure if all are airing in whole because that seems like a lot listed for one hour. It's mostly Roadrunner ones, though Compressed Hare is on the list, and there is an embedded video promo at the bottom that confirms it is only meant to be an hour special. Check it out at the link!

Wouldn't it be funny if....

Wouldn't it be funny if we found out Wig Guy has been a spy for EJ all along, and that's why he's always showing up in different places with different looks?

The thought occurred to me when Leo was pondering EJ knowing what he was up to... while Leo was wrong in this case, Wig Guy was in the background!

If that extra ever decides to leave, I hope they give him such a reveal on his way out and include a montage of his "spying" 😆

Back on!

If your station was down/black as mine was, check it. Mine just came back on!

ETA: There are now commercials so they must have been switching feeds and encountered an issue in doing it as I doubt they intended to be down that long.

ETA 2: Apparently they still use the countdown clock some. Both commercial breaks I saw briefly showed it at the start, but the second commercial break I saw was fully the clock for the last 30+ seconds. Maybe it depends what they sell for ads. A big difference from MeTV Toons having all their custom bits to fill their time. Comes off a bit sloppy in transitions but will take what we can get to have some of these shows back on. :)

Peacock Turns Its First-Ever Profit in Q2 as NBCUniversal Split Looms

"As for Peacock, executives did warn that “profitability is going to vary quarter by quarter, just based on the timing of sports schedules and other content hitting one quarter versus another,” suggesting that the service could return to the red in future quarters, and recommending that analysts compare its performance year-over-year, rather than quarter-to-quarter."

Seems like it may have been driven by sports and no mention of Days but we have had a lot of posts about the Days budget (or lack thereof) and certainly this is a contributing factor. Maybe if they can begin to show profits more regularly and if this isn't just a fluke, they can pass a bit more down to Days.

Cary Christopher on Prime

The series Cary Christopher (ex-Thomas) left for, It's Not Like That, is now on Prime, I believe as of this past Friday. It was available on Wonder Project, which is a faith-based service that can be an add-on, since January, but is now on regular Prime. If renewed for season 2, it will probably be on Wonder first again, though no news on that yet.

He also has a small role in Spider-Noir, which releases on Prime on May 27th after first premiering on MGM+ May 25th. He wasn't in the trailer so not as prominent here as in the family drama, but is listed as recurring.
