I’m watching some older episodes of the show. Mainly from 2009 and I saw a scene between Rafe and Arianna, who I realize now is the woman Gabi’s daughter is named after. Initially when I saw her and Rafe called her his sister, I figured it was Gabi. Apparently Arianna was not a fan of Sami very early on.

I know that Gabi is the mother of Sami’s granddaughter. Which is a little more weird now understanding it in context. Sami is in the episodes I’m watching but I haven’t seen Gabi and Sami interact yet.

Both Gabi and Sami have a long history of causing chaos though. Which I can only imagine is going to happen between Gabi and Sami at some point. If I remember correctly, the last time Sami briefly came to town, Gabi was not Sami’s biggest fan.

So do they get along? Or do they tolerate each other?

The new Legally Blond prequel spinoff on Amazon called Elle is set in 1995. I watched the whole season and wanted to let you guys know in case you're interested that they wrote Elle Woods to be a major Days of Our Lives fan. Famous DOOL storylines from that time are mentioned a few times. Elle tapes the show (on a VCR of course!) every day. As a Days fan it was fun for me to see. All the other 90's references were fun too.

On the July 2nd episode, Holly told Sarah that her mother Nicole had landed in Chicago & was coming (finally) to see her seriously ill daughter.

Since we have not heard anything about a recast, even a brief one, of Nicole, how do you think they are going to handle this visit?

Is Nicole going to have just left Holly's room, anytime anyone else comes in? A minor car accident leaving O'Hare, that requires hospitalization strands Nicole in Chicago? Or Nicole just mysteriously disappears??

Nicole is a character, IMH, that needs a recast. Even if the character just has short comebacks, for stories like the current one. There is no way mama bear Nicole would not be there for her only daughter, who's been going through hell. It's absurd she's not there.

I was watching the movie Fluxx (2024) and there’s a not so subtle Days reference in the movie. Mainly because the actress who stars in it is Shelley Hennig. She plays an actress who left a daytime soap opera to be an actress who is taken seriously.

For anyone who doesn’t know, Shelley played Stephanie before Abigail took over. My understanding is that Hennig left Days to be taken seriously and make more prime time shows and movies.

So it’s not a very subtle reference but it’s hard to think it’s a reference to anything else.

And before people comment, I didn’t watch Days when Hennig was on the show and I didn’t even know the character at the time. I became a fan of Hennig because of Teen Wolf after her time on Days.

I'm working on a video and looking for video clips with characters looking at the fireworks like the recent 4th of July episode. On top of your head, are there any episodes that you remember with these scenes?

Wondering if anyone can direct me where to find the Christmas episode that aired in 1994? It might be episode number 7435. I have a friend who was an extra as a child who appears in the show and I’m trying to surprise him by finding it.
I did Google it and am currently sifting through all the episodes as far back as I can go, but no luck so far.

I couldn't agree with EJ more when he said that this week to himself. Sometimes I can't believe Johnny was raised by EJ and Sami. He's just so mediocre. And he coasts somewhere between villian and vapid. He knows exactly who the Dimeras are and what the company is. It's a shady company and he knew that before becoming CEO. And yet he's so shocked that they did something underhanded like destroying the tainted meds and covering it up? Of course a company like Dimera is going to cover its' own ass first. So where does he get off being so self righteous? And don't get me started on his relationship with his father. He knows exactly who his father is. And yet he continues to threaten to cut him out of his life anytime EJ does something underhanded. And then he forgives him for the 100th time. He needs to either accept his father for who he is or cut him out forever. Which he'll never do because he's so wishy washy.

Her whole conversation with Joy was so odd to me…like why would Joy call YOU of all people when there’s a problem with HER and Alex’s daughter?? And then acting like she’s totally unbiased and understands the situation. Joy should’ve told her to leave!

I was doing some reading on Days after watching some of the old episodes on YouTube.

The original Kate Roberts - Deborah Adair apparently also played Jill Abbott on YR. Which amused me when the current Kate stepped in for the role of Jill on YR recently.

Thought maybe someone else would find that thought interesting also!

The casting director needs to be let go by now! Its hard enough to accept this 30 year old woman as Will, Sonny and Gabi's daughter but she also has a thick accent which makes no sense considering Gabi nor her parents have this accent. 

There's other casting blunders like Sarah being too young despite being Carrie's age. Sarah now looks the same age as Tate who is supposed to be 30 years younger than her. 

Kristen and Brady look the same age now despite Kristen was once his stepmom. 

Alex has a thick Boston accent and acts like he's from the street and the Gwen becoming Theresa with a blond wig was the stupidest decision.

Someone needs to start a petition to fire Marni, the casting director. She's awful at casting and as been terrible for years. 

What are your thoughts on how Sydney should be written? Personally, I hope adult Sydney is EJ in heels. Calculating, ruthless, morally gray. DiMera to the core. The complete opposite of Johnny.
