Tung oil vs a water based urethane. Both maple, same tree as a matter of fact. Tung oil hands down.

Almost blew thru!!

First try carving a serious rose, done and all waxed up. Heated it some to bring up the purple.

Just hit it with the fourth coat of spar urethane. Crazy grain...
