Hiby is cool!

Hey folks! Just wanted to give you an update. As I mentioned, Fiona said they are working on the issues. Keep in mind, Fiona is just a customer service rep... She can't program in Linux!

Turns out, HibyLink on the R1 I sent doesn't really matter. My friend's daughter is getting a Hiby R1, with Koss PortaPros (used. That's like 10 years old!)

So it is a happy ending after all, at least I'm my case. But I think Reddit saved the day cause it got me in touch with Joe, so now I feel like I have personal connection with Hiby.

Anyhoos....v have a good night, all

Sometimes it's nice to keep old things laying around

This is my old Fiio M3K and Pico Power amp. It still works and gives my Sundaras a nice smooth warm bottom end.

Let's just call it the "Jeff Chung Special Edition" firmware

I will let the videos speak for themselves.

https://photos.app.goo.gl/MMEtMTPN2A8N8V8u5 (28,422 files successfully scanned, but "SD card not found")

https://photos.app.goo.gl/7G1vhccJMC6VjEyq6 (Ok so I can't access through folders, let's just enjoy the music. Nope.)

This is my third Hiby. The last 2 being the R3II 2025. It checks all the boxes for me. Small, volume knob, powerful enough to push my Hifiman Sundaras, believe it or not.

But I've had nothing but problems with the Bluetooth connection and SD card reading. Today. I found the biggest glitch I can imagine.

I'm fairly positive they will have to fix it. I told them they would lose me as a customer. And surely they would lose a lot of you folks. Fortunately, Lori at Hiby had been very nice. Maybe I can get a job there! 😛

Happy listening, friends. Today was a win. Thank goodness I have my Shanling M5 to get me through the night. 😁

I'm near the end game

Once my Fiio FT7s come in I believe I am done for 2026.
