[Salesman] [Los Angeles, CA] - $60k

Completed film school in 2024. Have been unable to find film job. Gig app fraud required about 10 hours of work a week so was great for film school. The remote work fraud required full time hours.

Any advice on building a real career? The companies I defrauded have all just locked me out without pursuing anything against me. But its not something I would want to rely on.

How to get ahead in sales? I feel stuck in high churn roles.

I've been working in solar sales for a year and a half, in a role that has seen my team turnover so much I've stopped trying to get to know anyone I work with.

The money has been decent, and I must be better than average to keep making the quotas while so many people are let go. But I am burned out and the environment for solar sales is declining. I've been applying for other jobs, but the only interest I'm getting is for other mass hire high churn roles.

Asurion? anyone work there?

Currently working as a solar lead gen. Got an offer with Asurion for In-Home Sales & Tech Support. Thinking of accepting the offer. Anyone have experience with this role? Searched the sub and didn't find anything.

Does solar lead gen experience have any value for other sales jobs?

I work as a solar lead gen. Been doing it just over one year. Full time w2 30/hr + bonus for every lead that signs and further kw based bonus on signings that go to install. So while the pay isn't high it's reliable and enough to survive here in California.

Interior job option available to me is switch to in home closer, but I'm not really interested in that job. Wanted to switch to an in office role at another company but they seem to either want experience I don't have or pay less. Not sure how to move forward.

I have a CS degree, not sure if that helps since it wasn't required for this position.
