DistroKid says a "very small number of recordings" have been removed.

Very small compared to what? How many recordings were actually removed? How many artists were affected?

DistroKid says it strongly disputes UMG's allegations, so why are artists discovering their music has disappeared without notification or an opportunity to dispute the claims? Copyright complaints have to be taken seriously, but so do the artists paying for service.

DistroKid also says it regrets the disruption to affected artists, but perhaps the first step in minimizing that disruption is telling them it happened?

Anyone need help beating Final-Final?

I can generally get you through in 10-15 min.

Tip: if you die, move forward to my standee or character; don't go back, as I'll post standees in known trouble spots as we go.

Former DistroKid employee, happy to help with account, takedown, and held earnings issues

I hope this doesn't come across as self-promotion, but I wanted to offer help to anyone dealing with difficult DistroKid account issues.

I was employee #2 at DistroKid and worked there for roughly a decade. Since leaving, I've been doing independent consulting and have helped artists recover tens of thousands of dollars in held earnings, navigate fraudulent DMCA claims, resolve release takedowns, fix streaming-service mapping issues, submit counterclaims, and work through other distributor-related problems.

A lot of these situations can feel impossible to solve when you're getting canned responses or can't get through to anyone in support. While I can't guarantee outcomes, I do have a deep understanding of how these systems and processes work, and I have helped many artists successfully resolve issues that had been stalled for months.

If you're currently dealing with a DistroKid-related problem and want another set of eyes on it, feel free to reach out through jasensamford.com.

Even if you don't need professional help, I'm happy to answer questions in the comments when I can.
