Power loss for a moment - utility/grid or apartment/ unit related?

anyone else experiencing this? I'm near Mines and last night I woke up to my fan's alarm sound indicating a loss of power. I walked in the kitchen to see the oven's clock blinking, indicating there was a loss of power for at least a moment and the clock needed to be reset. My air purifiers were turned off due to the loss of power. I didn't have the window AC on nor any heavy appliances in use. My in-house neighbor hasn't gotten back to me whether they experienced similar last night. I'm not at Mines, I'm a few blocks away and very close to Mines.

Anyone else experience blips of power loss for a moment over the last couple of weeks? Not sure if it's apartment related or utility /grid related.

My landlord has been non-responsive on other recent move-in items so I'm not sure how timely she'd be for this. I'm traveling for a week in 2 weeks and am concerned about leaving a cat pal alone if this is an apartment electrical related safety hazard.

Recent Apt Move-in

howdy folks~ I moved into an apartment last week and it's been ... interesting

My initial impressions included how barely cleaned the apartment was (dust on each surface & fixture, food stains in the fridge). After seeing a slow draining shower drain, missing fire extinguisher in the unit & shared level hallway (I ended up purchasing one but would like to be reimbursed), older windows with significant gaps between the screens and frames to allow critters in / loose screens altogether, a patio door that doesn't stay close unless locked, a good amount of flies & moths (that I ended up getting traps for)... I'm wondering what my options are here/ if this is the norm for older apartments in this city

I already sent an email to the property management detailing these concerns earlier this week (no response) and sent maintenance requests this morning - but is this normal for older apartments in this city? I would prefer to maintain a friendly relationship with the property mgmt company but these issues concern me

Update 8/14: it's been a few days since these issues were originally reported, a follow-up contact today & no response. Perhaps the previous tenants were the suffer-in-silence type and these items were missed during inspection, but the lack of response is disappointing and does little to establish trust in the business relationship moving forward.

I would appreciate even a "we're really busy right now, we can get to this in a couple weeks when things slow" but the complete radio-silence is concerning.

Living amongst Mines students?

howdy folks ~ I'm (30s woman) considering a move to Golden from Boulder.

When I originally toured Boulder, I was warned to avoid certain parts of the city because of the louder college parties & frats. Is the same true for Colorado School of Mines? I've heard the Mines students tend to be more mild with partying & keeping to themselves, but curious if anyone has personal experience being not-college age and living close to the Mines campus?

Cheers & TIYA

Update: WOW - lots of responses, appreciate the info ya'll <3

I don't normally drive to Denver during the week but curious for the regular commuters, especially during freezing rain/snow (later tonight's conditions). How well is US-36 maintained during freezing rain / potential ice conditions? Some apps say 34-35deg and others 30-32deg around this time in Boulder, but I'm mostly interested in highway driving conditions

I have a class in Denver tonight 6:30-8:30 that I'm considering going, but may skip if there's a good chance the highway ices over. I have an older civic (front wheel) with winter tires

update: saw the heavy snow & decided to cancel - ty everyone for feedback <3 safe travels

howdy folks,

anyone have any local in-town hikes/nature walks they recommend, aside from the well-known hikes on AllTrails?

I'm considering a move from Boulder to Golden - and admittedly, feel some concern about what appears to be more rattlesnake activity in Golden and surrounding areas given the differences in tree cover & vegetation. Does anyone feel there's truth that?

Looking for tips / thoughts on how to manage (over) concern & concern over rattlers while hiking

hi folks,

I'm considering a lease at a condo for one of these units. I am in discussions on a possible tour soon.

From what I can tell from reading reviews online, the HOA / property management used to be terrible - but I've heard rumblings that things have improved. Any current residents (or recent within the last 6 months) know if things are truly better?
