A few were for the class specifically but the rest I selected to watch to help me round out what we were learning as I love film. I definitely focused in on Soviet war cinema as I went on, completing my final project on Russian war films. Otherwise, any favorites here? Anything else I should watch?

Update: just wanted to clarify that the films were not the primary learning done in the class. We did watch The World at War documentary but most of the class was reading memoirs, historical accounts, academic texts and primary sources. There were only a handful of movies required for the class. Most of the ones shown on the list I picked out on my own to help contextualize some of what we are learning, because I love film and wanted to devote time to watching films about the war and from as many perspectives as possible.
