Sharing this because I found it hard to find information about this online, so share this to help locals :)

You need:

• An OMNY account with your main bank checking account card number already linked
• Your OMNY transit account number (found in the travel card section on the OMNY website)
• Your Fair Fares ID number ready before calling

Call 311.

When the automated menu starts, you can speed it up by pressing 0 and saying “MTA Fair Fares.” Then choose the option to speak to a representative.

They might transfer you to another agent who handles the OMNY/Fair Fares financial side.

Once you get connected, tell them you want to link your Fair Fares discount to the debit/credit card connected to your OMNY account for tap payments.

They’ll ask for:
• Your Fair Fares ID number
• Your OMNY transit account number

After the call, the connection should go through within around 2–5 days.

Once it’s linked, you can tap your phone wallet using the card connected to OMNY and the Fair Fares discount should apply automatically.
