Hi everyone,

I've had my iPhone 12 Mini for around 3 years. I bought it refurbished and don't know how much capacity the battery has, as I can't access information about a foreign part in the settings (apparently, the seller placed a random battery, not the original from Apple). However, at this point, my phone dies after a few hours and overheats easily. So, I want to replace it at an Apple store.

I still run iOS 18 on my phone. I am well aware of the security updates in the later iOS, but I just want a minimalist, small and functional phone without AI features or fancy design, hence, I haven't updated it. Now, to the question. If I brought my iPhone to Apple services for battery replacement, would they also have to upgrade my system to the newest iOS?

I saw some protests 1.5 weeks ago in Warsaw with huge crowds of people carrying religious icon and flags of the Solidarność movement. It turned out to be a demonstration against the EU sustainability policies, if I remember correctly. I’m visiting Poland to learn more about its history, and after visiting the Solidarność museum in Gdansk yesterday, I could not fathom the weird conglomeration of this cool movement and the eurosceptic right-wingish catholic crowd.

So, can someone please explain to me what’s the current state of affairs within the Solidarność movement? I was also thinking about getting a pin with their logo because I found them so inspiring, but remembering the protests, I‘m not sure anymore haha. Thanks!
