4090 repaste - new VRAM thermal pads needed?
After of years of being oblivious, I realized my Asus TUF 4090 suffers from a serious hot spot (Port Royal 73c gpu, 103c hotspot).
With the goal of maximizing longevity given the current state of GPU / pc component markets, I'll be repasting with PTM7950 which I've seen a lot of positive comments on.
TLDR/Question in the title: what are the chances that the thermal pads on the memory will need to be replaced as well?
has anyone repasted a 4090 recently (i.e. after 4 years of close to daily use) that could chime in on this?
