How do I take a pet on a flight?

I will be taking my kitten on a domestic flight on Alaska Airlines. I have never taken a pet on a flight and I have no idea how to do that or what is expected of me.

Edit to clarify: I have the space reserved. The airline knows. I mean more of like how do I do everything I need to do on the day of.

Should I have her tested?

Sorry, the photo is blurry, she’s wiggly 🤍. I am currently fostering to adopting her, and I just learned about Chimeras. Because of the split on her face and chest, I’m wondering if she should be tested for that so that I can make sure I have all of her health needs covered?
