so i already found my boss really rude and having unrealistic expectations and just contributing to a hostile work environment. i graduated from the high school i work at, so i already knew her. i had no idea how much worse it could get.

she seemed pretty nice at first once i started work, which was an adjustment from the super grumpy middle aged woman i knew from high school. then she went on a vacation, putting the new assistant in charge. he started being super problematic. shit talking employees and even cussing them out, talking about other employees behind their backs, making some really weird comments (including some really gross sexist comments), and just going behind her back a lot.

my boss gets back from hawaii. the assistant tells her all the shit about all of us (most of which was highly exaggerated, uninformed, or just straight up lies). all the part timers including me go talk to the boss in her office about the assistant and how he’s been making everyone feel really unsafe at work. she says she’s going to talk to him.

the next day, she brings us back to her office and says that she’s not happy with us for not being “welcoming” to the assistant (wtf???). and then proceeds to tell us if the previous assistant had said those comments, we would’ve last. (context: the previous assistant was a super friendly and social guy, everyone loves him). which was really fucked up because now she’s defending the assistant and is also implying the previous assistant would say that shit. he would never say those things. and if he did, we would all immediately lose respect for him.

fast forward to this week. she keeps lecturing me about walking back to get supplies we happened to not have on the cart that SOMEONE ELSE didn’t set up properly. says i’m “wandering too much”. yells at me after work yesterday for “not being efficient”. i will say i’m new so it’s been an adjustment. yeah i’m maybe not as fast as some of the other ones so i partially agree with her on that. and am actively trying to improve. but she’s just being really rude to me and not giving me any chances TO improve, as well as getting mad at me for doing the shit i was literally asked to do.

then we get to today. last week we removed some of the sod from the baseball field. i wasn’t personally involved in the project, but apparently she had them dump it all into one of the front load dumpsters behind the school. if anyone knows this, that’s a big no-no. so naturally the disposal company comes and then they tell her that they can’t do the trash pickup because she just put over a dozen tons of sod into the dumpster. it’s too heavy. so they tell her to rent one of the heavier duty roll off dumpsters and to move all the sod to that dumpster so it can be safely hauled without damaging equipment.

guess what? she put me and my coworker to the task. took us almost 4 hours. it’s a pretty large dumpster and there was 7 full feet of sod all the way to the top. and it was all pretty compacted, so we had to work really hard with shovels to even dream of picking that shit up. not to mention the roll off dumpster was like several yards away so we couldn’t directly dump anything, we had to dump it in a brute, then walk the brute over, and then shovel all of it into the dumpster because like i said that shit is heavy and even two people could barely lift it. and by the way i’m not going to sit here and say that it was the worst thing in the world, even though it was hard, i’m ranting about the way were treated after it.

we get back inside, she’s standing right inside receiving and immediately starts lecturing us on doing it too slow and how it should’ve been an hour max. what the actual fuck. and then she also made up some bullshit about how i wasn’t doing anything??? even though i was working almost equally as hard as the other guy. so yeah now she’s even more mad at me. i’m just really pissed because she has the audacity to get bitchy about us going outside of our responsibilities to clean up after her mistake. she’s been the facility manager for 20 years. how can she not know that sod can weigh up to a ton per cubic yard and that the disposal company explicitly warns against putting dirt, sod, and concrete into the containers? does she think trucks can carry infinite weight? especially those tiny ass front load attachments? and now you have the audacity to complain about us taking too long for something you should’ve been doing yourself?

this shit has gotten so frustrating and i’ve been trying to be patient with her, but i’m so fucking done. i’m leaving at the end of the summer. i’m not dealing with that bullshit.

and before anyone on here says i’m overreacting or something, there’s a reason i’m just ranting about it on here and haven’t actually done anything drastic like quitting or submitting complaints to HR. the point of venting is so that it doesn’t pile up so much that i can’t handle it anymore and just lash out at work and get fired.

I woke up this morning and noticed my phone was on cell data, so I tried turning WiFi on and it wouldn’t let me. I rebooted my iPhone and was able to connect. But for the last several hours, my iPhone has been constantly switching between WiFi and cellular data while watching a show in the same spot.

The only thing that confuses me is that this hasn’t happened until today, instead of throughout the week ever since I installed the beta. That’s why I’m starting to wonder if it’s an issue with my service provider or my router.

I just want to know if anyone else is having this issue.

i want to post someone that made a dumb comment, got downvoted into oblivion, and then proceeded to pretend they worked at the company to make themselves look correct (they’re not). where can i post this?

i have a bunch of old jlab (mostly earbuds and a pair of headphones) that i no longer use and want to get rid of for some cash. does anyone know of anywhere i might be able to trade them in, or am i going to have to sell them on mercari or something?
