telogen effluvium

telogen effluvium

did anyone else experience severe hair shedding aka telogen effluvium after having mono? i’ve never had issues like this and it’s handfuls every time i brush my hair or wash my hair. my derm said it’s likely from the mono coupled with the stress of losing my mom in february but was hoping to connect with people who had TE post mono

VO2 max

hi all, i’m exactly a month and some change out and i finally am starting to walk some more and my vo2 max is back to where i was before i started my fitness journey. i’m 5’8” and 145 lbs and in good shape physically but my health anxiety is telling me my vo2 max will continue to drop and i’ll never be back to normal. how long did it take everyone who is into working out to get back to a baseline. i know im probably impatient because some say i should still be resting until the 6 week mark but idk im just scared it’s forever ruined my body.

setback?

hey guys, so sorry for posting so much here. day 22 since onset of symptoms. 14 days since diagnosis.
yesterday i went back to work for an 8 hour shift still not feeling great. it’s a reception job so most of the time was seated but still, prob the most amount of time ive spent upright in weeks.
today i called out because i woke up with a low grade fever of 99.6 i assume from doing too much too soon.
does it ever get easier? will i ever return to normal 😔

mono + migraines

hi all, 34f here on the mend from mono. about 19 days out and most of the throat pain is gone and i’m just left with elevated/funky heart rates and fatigue.
i’ve had ocular migraines for 10 years but i’ve never had 2 a day apart which happened to me 2 days ago and they i actually woke up at 4am to the tail end of one this morning.
did anyone notice an increase of migraines during mono/mono recovery.
i’d like to add i am also still dealing with trauma and acute grief over the sudden death of my mom 4 months ago.
i get so scared on here reading about the lasting effects and i just need to know if anyone experienced migraine increase too.
thanks in advance!

34F first timer

hi all, recently suffered a massive loss. my mommy passed away suddenly and traumatically 3 months ago and last week i woke up with what i thought was a pulled muscle in my neck. the next day tender cervical lymph nodes popped up and i have health ocd so i panicked thinking i had lymphoma. the following night i had a low grade fever and a massive night sweat which really sealed the deal with my ocd about having lymphoma. went to urgent care monday got blood tests and swabs for covid and flu etc. all came back normal per him. fast forward to today i go back for a recheck bc my anxiety is all consuming convinced i have lymphoma. apparently my monocytes were elevated during my first labs but were ignored. and bam positive mono titer at 10.4 today. i just got my fitness goals where i wanted them with a resting HR of 69. now my resting rate is in the 90s. i already had POTS-y symptoms prior and im so scared it’ll be long term. i need some positive stories.
