My Journey from ESO Raid Leader to Founder of Once Architect(OH Builder Community) ⭐

Hi! you probably know me as "that builder" that mostly plays sims in OH, you're not wrong. I don't do game content nowadays n spent all my time planning about next town projects with u/OnceArchitect.

But.. I wasn't always like that. I thought I would share my journey how I go from MMO raiding to becoming a cozy builder.. to leading a group of passionate building community in OH.

ESO & Housing Journey

For years, ESO was my main MMO, leading raid groups & chasing clears but I was slowly burning out from raiding (making roster/replacement,keeping up morale etc started to feel like a 2nd job.)

I did dabble in housing system in ESO & what I love the most is that u could rotate objects 360°, clip furniture together, and create things that the game never intended., like making santa claus out of snow pile. This system that I wished we have in OH. (please dev) (I include some ESO housing pics on this posts at the end)

Once Human Beta Keys

I chanced upon Once Human during its beta 2 years ago from mutual friend. I was also fighting for beta codes like everyone else (lol) I still remember when people are selling beta codes, its a crazy wild west back then.

Back then the housing system was extremely basic, there wasnt any skins & glass skin was leaked from China's beta & everyone was hyped about that, its probably why u saw everyone is building glass house when the skin first came out lol. You could also make a hive base where everyone can access it (I still miss it!!)

OH Building System

I love that u can basically move your territory everywhere instead of having it fixed in 1 location like so many survival games. Flight mode building honestly changed my life!!

I've also been fortunate enough to be chosen to create official event venues alongside bug reports & feedback thru creator program.

Has the game had its shortcomings? Absolutely, but what game doesnt? Nothing is 100% perfect.

Once Architect

Eventually when I started sharing tip & tricks thread in OH official discord. I found an entire group of people who loved building as much as I did.

That small group slowly grew into u/OnceArchitect.

Today we're building entire collaborative towns, creating tutorials, helping new builders improve etc.

Raiding in MMOs taught me that 1 person's lack of communication affects everyone else, and that's a mindset I've carried with me ever since.

I'm still extremely organized & believe deadlines matter. When we run large community projects, I like having plans, milestones, and making sure everyone knows what they're working on.

Some people love that. Some people don't & I know that my leadership style isn't for everyone.

At the end of the day, my goal has always been the same: to respect everyone's time and bring architects from all over the world together to create something bigger than any one person could achieve alone.

The community has always been built by builders, for builders. No one understands the joys & frustrations of building in OH quite like another builder. Thats what makes this community so special to me.

If youve made it this far, thank u for reading!

TL;DR: MMO raid leader → ESO housing addict → Once Human builder → Founder of Once Architect. Turns out I wasnt chasing raid clears, I was discovering a passion for building all along. 🏡
