Calf raises

I had my first gout flare a few months after starting a morning exercise routine that included calf raises ( in which you briefly stand on just forefoot/toes to
Raise yourself then lower). Just prior to the flare I did these heavily, so do you think the pressure in my toes may have incited the flare(and I do have a bone spur above left big toe joint (Hallux Limitus) ) ?

Anyone with gout also have Hallux Rigidus ?

I’ve had what I thought was a bunion on the base of my left big toe joint for several years. Last week after seeing a podiatrist and having an X-Ray, I found out it’s a bone spur and related to arthritis and I have a condition Hallux Rigidus ( cannot bend my big toe and am walking on outside of foot (supination) to avoid toe and to compensate for not having toe strength/flexibility.
In April, I had a gout attack on that toe/foot. Doctor prescribed colchicine and took tart cherry juice , Advil , and ice packs and it all subsided in a week or two. Uric acid test indicated a high level of uric acid . I had another flair in May and now another now here in June. So am contemplating discussing with my doctor allopurinol if next uric acid test also comes back high.
The podiatrist said she could inject my toe with cortisone to help the Hallux Rigidus. Thinking about that. Also if it gets worse, I could get a surgery.
Anyone have Hallux Rigidus in toe? And how has that complicated your gout and any advice on treatment? I was told by podiatrist to get rocker type soles and rigid soles or inserts to get pressure off of toe. Any shoe recommendations?
