We all know that this sub loves funds… SCHD, JEPI, JEPQ, etc… But what are some of your ‘must hike’ individual names right now? Even if not totally dividend oriented?
I’ll start: ABBV, MO, and ARCC will always be staples in my individual portfolio. And right now I’m aggressively building positions in MKC and KMB while the price is down and yield is up.
I’ll start… O’s.
I started (really) following baseball in 2004, the season before the Nationals became official in preparation of allegiance to another DC sports team. Lifer fanatic of the Caps and Skins... I went and sat at decrepit RFK with 2500 other fans with Livan as our ace and Nick Johnson our power bat. Safe to say I’ve been loyal and here from day 1.
But I also remember my father taking me to Camden Yards when I was little. I remember fans going absolutely nuts for every Ripken at bat and that grade school “Orioles Win!” graphic on that ancient scoreboard in the 90s.
I bought into the beltway “rivalry” bullshit and man, being a Nats fan has paid dividends. But the older I get, the more I realize that these dudes get paid for our entertainment and we can root for whoever the fuck we want. If that makes me a traitor or a “never fan” in the eyes of some, oh well.
My son is a huge O’s fan and I love taking him to that beautiful stadium to root on all the young talent they have right now. I’ll always be a DC fan first and foremost but the O’s have a fun team and a phenomenal baseball history… love being a part of it.
