Mila Air - Longtime user. Please Avoid.
Wanted to share my experience with Mila air purifiers now that I’m down to my last working unit after roughly five years of ownership.
I was part of the original Kickstarter launch (late 2020) and bought two of the original units. Both failed after about two years, within roughly one month of each other. The failures were related to the bearings and power units.
To Mila’s credit, they offered replacement units for $100 each, so I bought two replacements. Now, after about three years, one of those replacement units has also failed due to what appears to be another power unit issue.
At this point, my takeaway is pretty negative. The units are expensive, and based on my experience, they do not have the durability or longevity I would expect at this price point.
I like the concept and the smart features, but four units over five years with three failures is hard to justify. For anyone considering Mila, I’d factor replacement risk into the real cost of ownership.
Additionally, Mila Air deletes any negative post on their MilaAir Reddit and will ask you to contact them via email. As others have mentioned here, their only solution is to offer you the next generation unit at $239 under the condition you sign up with their filter auto refill program.
Better Business Bureau will be hearing from me.
