A few of the larger chubutensis teeth I’ve found

Carolina gold / brownies teeth are some of my favorite that I find. All personally found over the last few years in North Carolina

Freshies

Picked up from an active sand tiger feeding location, no pulling from dead sharks!

The elusive benedenii

My collection of Parotodus benedenii, all personally collected in NC. The top left reddish one and the one at 7 o’clock are both 2.86 inches which is really getting up there for a benny

Great white and Hastalis collection

Some of the great white and c. hastalis teeth I’ve found. I have more in my display case but these are some of the smaller / nice colors / location / whatever other reason for keeping I had. Primarily from NC but also SC and FL teeth in there

My best 6 inch tooth, May 2026 trip

But man it is making me work for it. Vinegar takes a while with the matrix that is on the root - I will finish eventually but decided to take a break for a few weeks after getting it like 80% done

The tip really sucks :( but at least it is actual feeding damage and not post fossilization. The angular break and general condition of the rest of the serrations indicates that it was broken prior to fossilization.

Found in NC about a week ago, 6.08 inches and instantly one of my favs

Oh barnacles!

Weekend finds - our new dive site has more barnacles than anywhere else I’ve ever been. Some of them hide the teeth really well. Plus bonus pic that shows the madness of a 3 day trip

First NC trip of the season was awesome - super clear water with 80+ feet of visibility, an absolutely massive sea turtle who wanted to check out the teeth I found in exchange for pets, and a tiger shark out in the murk (heading the other direction fortunately)

This site had a lot of teeth sitting on the surface but super camouflaged with barnacles and growth. It’s cool finding a big one right in the open because to me that means I’m probably the only person who has ever been to that exact place

Top is 5.9, middle is a hair over 6, and didn’t measure the bottom
