Currently Have This on Repeat

Something about this performance that I like more than the album recording. Beautifully sad sounding song.

What Happens Next Until You're Big Enough

Anyone hear the similarity in the melodies in the choruses of each song? And they're both in a waltz feel. Seems very copy/paste. Not a bad thing since other artists do it, but it stood out to me immediately. You can almost sing the lyrics from one over the music for the other and it fits.

Best Eagles Players Since 2000

I was listening to my favorite NFL podcast, Heed the Call, discuss the best player for each team this century (2000-present). They've only covered the AFC so far, but they'll do the NFC next week. I'm curious to hear who they'll say for our Birds. My guess/personal answer would probably be Brian Dawkins. But I think a case could also be made for Jason Kelce or LeSean McCoy. It's just for fun, to pass the time until the season starts. Which Eagles would you answer for this question?

An Observation of Non-Drummers

I think those of us who play the drums may take for granted knowing the parts of the kit and the sounds they make. I recently showed my family a video of a drummer who brilliantly switched his snare on and off mid-song to demonstrate how to play the solo on Tom Sawyer on a "small kit" by making use of the snare as a third "tom" when it was switched off. My sister didn't get it, so I said watch his hand on the side of the snare drum. She asked which one is the snare drum? I kind of stopped for a moment and said, ya know, the snare... the snare drum... the one that sounds... like a snare drum. I'm exaggerating a bit - I did specify it's the one that sounds kind of tight because it has metal snares underneath the bottom head. She said all she knows is the bass drum, the cymbals, and then there are some others. Anyway, found this humorous. Anyone have any similar experiences explaining drums to non-drummers?
