2 wisdom teeth removed, 2 still left -- should I remove the others to have balance?
Hello everyone, I am relatively new to mewing and need some advice.
I had braces as a teenager and a mechanical expander, but afterwards I didn't keep the retainer and some of the teeth went back into a crooked position (not entirely, but still). I breathe through my nose, always have, but I have had intense TMJ issues years -- clicking, misalignment, and a recessed chin.
About 6 years ago, I had 2 of my wisdom teeth removed (upper and lower wisdom teeth on the right side of my jaw, which happens to be where the TMJ issues have always been the worst). Then I went traveling, the pandemic started, and we stayed abroad. Now I'm back in Europe, and I could remove the other 2 wisdom teeth. However, now that I am learning about mewing as a solution to these issues, I see that removing wisdom teeth is not recommended, but it seems like a bad idea to have a lack of balance (right side without wisdom teeth, left side with).
Do any of you have any information that could help me in this regard? Orthodontists and dentists I have spoken to dismiss orthotropics outright and just want to pull out my teeth and give me braces again, so I am not sure who to talk to about this.
Thanks in advance!
Blessings.
