Why are women still being shamed and humiliated for choosing not to be hairless?
I'm so sick and tired of this.
I have had skin irritation and sensitivity issues with my legs that prevents me from being able to shave.
Waxing is the only thing that works for me that doesn't make me suffer for weeks after.
But I can't afford that kind of maintenance so I only do it for special occasions, like weddings or vacations.
My dad is very traditional in this sense, and has publicity shamed \*and\* humiliated me several times, and has taken unsolicited, unprompted photos of my hairy legs in the comfort of my own home.
It is an ongoing issue, and so today I asked why does he think it's so gross and unnatural for a women to have body hair that grows normally just like it does on men?
"Because it's the law in this house and I prefer it that way. It's for proprietary and fashion."
So I asked him why doesn't he shave since his legs are worse than mine;
"Because I'm not a women."
I will happily take any good articles on this to send him if anybody has one.
I've already collected several screenshots from an article and highlighted the important bits for him, particularly how men used to shave and even used to seashells to do it :)
