Fun weekend, drunk weekend

  1. Southern fried chicken, lizard king brewing co.

A classic southern fried chicken topped with mushroom and corn gravy and mash on the side. Took a FAT NAP after that. There's water in my mouth already. Go and try I can't explain how comforting this was.

  1. ITR (COCKTAIL) & Chicken popcorn, Boilermaker.

Love the cocktails at this place this one's their version of a coconut based negroni and it was awesome. The popcorn was great, I also tried pickled fries and it was nice. So was their take on old fashioned it's called "we've figured it out" and they sort of have. And the nitro stout by TOIT was like a cherry on the cake, it's available on their guest tap so hurry up ig.

  1. A negroni & loaded nachos, freebird community bar.

The negroni was smoooooooth, love how they served the sour cream, guac and salsa separately on the nachos instead of it drizzled everywhere. This way I can make a perfect bite.

  1. Cajun jerk chicken, freebird.

Like the name suggests it's supposed to be a mix of both, but I didn't taste any jerk there. Still good quality meat, cooked well and decent tasting so no regrets.

  1. Raw mango tossed Chicken, freebird.

I expected this to be like orange chicken but it was better the sour note paired well with the veggies and fried bits of chicken. I'd order this again.

Overall, I've talked before about lizard king brewing co and it's sort of my fav bar around here. They have amazing beers on tap and that paired with their proper bar snacks, you can have a good sesh here.

Boilermaker I've been to a few times I don't like doing Boilermakers there but I like their cocktails and craft beers. They're nice people.

Freebird, always seen this place otw to moira and it looked good from outside. Definitely no regrets here I'll keep it as my safe place for when I want something different but not experimental. It's a chill place to sit and relax they've got great music and Karaoke as well. Lastly Good food good drinks.

TLDR: Read it bro. I like all three places.

Prawns Sukha

Hi peeps i tried this new recipe today i basically mixed the marination used for chicken Korma with grated coconut and et viola we have this tasty thing which I'd call prawns sukha.

It might not be unique but idk try it if you want something tangy spicy for your chakna.

So i used about 25-30 prawns

  1. We start by making a paste take a blender jar and add 3-4 Kashmiri chillies, 1 or 2 local red chilies, i added about 3-4 tbsp of grated coconut, some garlic cloves, an inch of ginger and half a tomato. Then add some spices like coriander powder, cumin and garam masala. Also I added juice from 1 whole lime you can add half first and half later as per taste, Add water to this and blend. Now you've an orangish paste, keep it aside.

  2. Take a pan or kadhai, sauté an onion till golden brown. Add prawns to it and saute for about 5 mins (add salt now if your prawns weren't marinated with salt before).

  3. Now when the prawns look cooked and tough add the paste to it again sauté a bit on high flame and then add water to adjust the consistency, I kept the lid closed for about 5 mins so it releases some water of its own. Salt to taste. Some chopped coriander.

Et viola you have prawns sukha. Pair it with a kadak pao or a malabar paratha and take a 3 hour nap.

Chicken curry cause i expected it to rain and it didn't...still very comforting.

So I did another thing, I was seriously craving a good chicken curry .... Yk the one served in northern restaurants which is a staple in the dinner buffet. Usually paired with dal rice/roti the last time I had such an experience was in dharamshala and I've tried and tried to replicate it for a while.

A week back I stumbled on this recipe tried it today and it slaps. Also very easy to make tho I did add everest shahi biriyani masala instead of the whole spice ( cause mom wasn't home and she kept the masala ka dabba somewhere I couldn't find).

Also kept the consistency a little on the watery side cause i wanted to pair it with some rice.

Also if y'all have any weird or unique or fusion recipes that you want to try or have please drop the links I love experimenting with food.

Last weekend.

  1. Jungle cafe - they actually made pesto like it's supposed to be and not just the salty slop most places do.

Easily my go to place for day drinking (brunch they call it), they also have one of the best jerk chicken I've tried in goa.

  1. Meiphung Northeast Bar and resto - My fav place to eat northeastern cuisine was little tibet and that closed so I found a new one. 2nd in frame crispy chicken followed by pork momos and egg noodles a great meal after a bender of a night.

  2. Tried the talawa gosht recipe but with chicken liver and gizzard (ik not everyone likes it) but yummmmm.

  3. Vitorinos a throwback, long time no see this place used to be a weekend hangout for us. Hosted by Shaunak and Sowmya, lovely people make lovely pizzas that you have to try. Watched the finals here what a match that was.

Mutton rec, odd one in ponda

Hi fellow eaters I've found you a spot for maharashtrian cuisine (not 100% authentic but still very tasty).

The jATRA mutton takes you back to satara traditionally served in a handi with a separate rassa, here it's served in 3 portions of chonky pieces in a handi, some semi gravy with small bits of mutton and a matka full of absolutely amazing smelling rassa.

I also tried their mutton 85 (green pakoda) which was actually a simple delight and they've got a good chicken biryani too(fresh one not dum)

The place is called Abhilasha fine dine (has family and bar sections separated). Been here like 3 times now...3/3 no regrets.

I know the pictures are supposed to be taken before eating but come on lads food like this you can't not be messy.

Doda atelier, cafe.

I can never resist a good carrot cake and doda had one which was almost perfect. That paired with their sunset americano was the best one I've had after a while.

Do try this cafe in porvorim it's across bakerstreet where victorias patisserie used to be.

No pictures this time cause i couldn't resist eating it..lol

A comforting meal this monsoon.

Found at lizard king brewing co. This amazing chicken and mushroom pie is to the point. No unnecessary fuss. Pie. Mash. Gravy. Salad. One of the best meals I've had at a bar.

Chef Arun is THE MAN.

Not A Discussion.

A boy is dead, and somehow the discussion has become more about “how he got the gun” than why things reached this point in the first place.

Would it matter if he had jumped from a roof or died any other way? We should be more focused on why it happened, not how.

Two things stand out in this entire incident:

  1. News pages and social media accounts promoting viral confrontation videos as entertainment instead of responsible reporting.

  2. A civic system that has failed people for years with irregular garbage collection and no proper designated dumping points in many areas.

What’s even more worrying is how everyone today wants to act like a reporter without any responsibility or consequences. Recording an offense is not wrong. But the correct thing to do is approach the authorities. In this case the councillor, municipality, or police, submit the evidence, file a legal complaint, and let due process happen. If required, it can then be reported as news responsibly.

Instead, videos are instantly uploaded for public outrage, humiliation, views, and entertainment. And once social media turns a person into content, people forget there is an actual human being behind the screen.

This was not just one mistake or one incident. It was a chain of failures - civic failure, sensational media culture, public shaming, and a society more interested in conspiracy than accountability.

And to the moral police online, you cannot expect a person to do the right thing every single time. Human beings make mistakes every day, some small, some bigger. People spit on roads, urinate in public places, break traffic rules and do things they shouldn’t. That does not mean society should turn every mistake into public execution through social media outrage.
