Ocean Cay Chair Rental

Apologies if someone else has posted this recently.

I think I missed the memo somewhere, but since Christmas 2025 they have removed all of the free chairs from the Ocean Cay beaches. You can now rent two loungers plus an umbrella for $39USD. I love cruising with MSC and Ocean Cay is my favorite destination, but this is a bit disappointing. I know it’s a money-making company and all, just, this feels extra greedy.

Another demo drive take

I drove an R2 in Orlando this evening. I currently drive a Jeep Wagoneer S EV and have previously owned a Chevy Blazer EV and Audi e-Tron SUV.

I really only have two takeaways:

  1. I love how much storage space they made available in this vehicle. The two glove compartments makes so much sense. And the deep compartment under the cargo floor is great.
  2. I was genuinely impressed by how composed this vehicle felt, especially compared to the Jeep. The R2 felt like it knew what to do with its power while the Jeep feels like a puppy that is still figuring out life. I will say that because of this it wasn’t as fun to drive because there was no instability factor. The torque steer in the Jeep can catch you off guard in the Jeep when the front motor engages.

Overall, I can’t wait to get my order email. I look forward to having an R2 in my garage sometime in 2027.
