Dog Friendly Summer Party in LIC on August 30th with vegan food

Hey hey! I'm with Korean K9 Rescue and we've got our summer fundraiser coming up at Spicy Moon LIC (formerly Han Dynasty) by Court Square on Sunday, August 30 from 1-6pm.

We'll have adoptable dogs, vegan dim sum, drinks, vendors, raffles, a photo booth, doggy pools and treats, and more. Dogs are welcome too!

Tickets are $40 for GA and $75 for VIP.

Hope to see some LIC neighbors there! https://koreank9rescue-bloom.kindful.com/e/raise-the-woof-summer-party

Part Time Hire - I Will Not Promote

Hi all,

I know someone else posted earlier about first hire issues.

I just agreed to bring on a new, part time hire. Fresh grad out of school. I met them just over a week ago, in person, to get started. Created an email for them, sent a contract/offer, and login credentials for the app/platform, as it has a beta access code, and some other onboarding stuff.

I didnt hear from them until Tuesday, so I follow up around getting started this week. They wrote back almost immediately, saying they looked over some of the documents a day earlier, and would create an account to look at the app that night.

She didn't. Now 48 more hours, hasnt responded, hasnt created an account, hast signed the offer. I'm already turned off by this person, because they were supposed to get started last week, and now its 4:30 the following Thursday, and still hasnt even done the basic things to get started.

I'm ready to move on, and try to find someone who's actually interested. I turned down another person I was interviewing to bring this one on. Am I being crazy? I actually had another hire before her for 3 months, who I had to chase down for stuff, and wasnt assertive, and I dont want that again. I let them go a few weeks ago.

Queens Plaza North Cursed Restaurants/Crescent

We had this brunch place that barely lasted two month, then the seafood buffet, also barely lasted a few months. There was the Raman place on the corner, than didnt do well, moved into the smaller storefront, and the larger corner spot was Prof Chans, that rebranded to Hunan Heat. It seemed to do well, then it randomly closed, a sign up saying just closed for a month while it was becoming multiple businesses. Now 3 months have passed, and a for rent sign has gone up there.

The Huntress is like the only place that has lasted here, apart from Fer at the end, and the Bahn Mi place.

What will actually survive here?
