Yeah I mean I don't even know what else to say at this point. I just keep getting stuck in these endless loss cycles where my teammates are either tanks who don't tank, healers who don't heal, or DPS who do zero damage per second. While the enemy team are all Celestials who did 15 tours on the pro circuit who never die ever and can instakill anyone on my team just by turning the camera their way.

Except, of course if they're on my team. The people going 0-13 on my team will, inexplicably, go 40-0 when they're against me in the next round.

Just about every round I play is completely fucking lopsided and it feels like the only matches I win are the bot matches or the ones where the enemy team actively fuck around.

Genuinely it feels like I'm fucked no matter what character I play, what map I'm on, or anything else I try to do. I can't do anything in any configuration. And I know some people will say I'm schizoposting but it seriously feels like the game is actively stacking the deck against me in these matches. "Oh yeah here's another five man stack of grandmasters to fight, anyway here's your team of five guys who downloaded the game five minutes ago. Have fun."

"Just play ranked"

Leaving aside the issues ranked has, of which there are many, I don't think I should need to point out how bad it is for the health of a game when the relaxed casual game mode is a lopsided as a seesaw falling into a ravine.

So, my story has seen a decent spike in popularity of late. So much so that someone from Moonquill messaged me on RoyalRoad stating they were interested in publishing the story.

I'm a bit interested in the offer but I'm still doing research into them as a group. Has anyone had any experience working with them? Good? Bad?

We have so few bans to work with, and good odds the stupid fucking system will double ban the same character on both sides, so please, kindly, stop wasting ban slots on fucking Peni.

Yeah she can be strong but she's not some uber-oppressive monster, certainly not at the ranks I play at, and there are so many other characters who deserve a ban much more than she does. I'd ban half the fucking roster before thinking Peni is a concern I need to worry about.

The nests are not that fucking hard to beat. The maps offer flanking routes, you have fliers, you have so many goddamn options to deal with the nests that I cannot FATHOM why people rush to ban her.

"Aw gee guys sorry we're getting absolutely annihilated by the most powerful poke characters in the game but I just think the spiders are icky."

This game is nearly two goddamn years old and people still, still do not understand what the fuck a team comp is.

Feels like every single goddamn match I go into there's at least four smoothbrain chuds instalocking DPS and then refusing to swap off or do anything different, no matter how badly we're getting creamed. And this season, it seems, we've hit critical mass of selfish fucking dickheads.

I get it, to an extent. So often it feels like you're forced to play support or solo tank that maybe, once in a while, you want to be the selfish one who plays duelist for a change.

But you know what? With role queue you can play DPS, or any other role, as much as you goddamn please.

B-but the match waiting times!

Don't care. I will gladly wait a little longer if it means a chance at semi-intelligent teams. And wit how utterly dogshit Rivals matchmaking is, having to wait might even be an improvement.

It could hardly get much worse.

B-but it's quickplay!

Don't care. Quickplay isn't an excuse to be an asshole. It's a team game, so be a team player or fuck off.

The playerbase proves time and again they can't be trusted with the freedom they have and I'm so goddamn tired of dealing with them.
