Are shrimp capable of becoming serial killers?
Hello! I set up a tank about a month and a half ago with 10 ghost shrimp. I later added five peppered cory catfish, and I plan to add a betta soon.
Slowly but surely the shrimp started dying off one by one. No catfish deaths, nothing abnormal about the water parameters. Now there is but one, the biggest of the shrimp that I originally added. I can feel his beady little eye stalks on me when I cook.
I’m afraid I may have a tiny Hannibal Lecter living in my kitchen tank. Is that possible? The last time I kept shrimp this didn’t happen. I don’t know if they’re capable of violence but if they are, Buffalo Bill here is a prime suspect for shrimp on shrimp crime. Sorry, don’t mean to get political.
Has anyone else shared a similar experience? I’ve added a picture of his hunting ground as well.
